slam dunk 1,317 Report post Posted February 24, 2021 I didn't think the answers received enough scrutiny. Couldn't find anything about radio. If racing on traditional radio is going to make a comeback it will do so in partnership with community radio. Will the TAB playball? Particularly if non descript overseas races are not broadcast The silence from Bernard Saundry on keeping the TAB supporting racing is disappointing. Why did this get into the Racing ACT? Quote from Dean McKenzie... "It is important to note, however, that under the Racing Act 2020, the objective to promote New Zealand racing now falls under the auspices of the racing codes." That means the TAB can operate and keep growing themselves without having to worry about NZ Racing. NZ Racing doesn't need potential NZ participants and punters being put off by being fed rubbish racing products on TV. The excuse that NZTAB needs to stay competitive with overseas agencies is a contradiction to supporting NZ Racing. Maybe the question wasn't put but where do executive salaries stand after the great COVID downsize? Overall it was disappointing that Dean's answers weren't critiqued enough. shaneMcAlister 1,425 Report post Posted February 24, 2021 This quote "It is important to note, however, that under the Racing Act 2020, the objective to promote New Zealand racing now falls under the auspices of the racing codes." a Along with the mission of tab to maximise profits worries me. Taken to its word, the best way to maximise profits would be no NZ racing, less distributions. Just stream aussie racing. Everything should be about growing NZ racing.
