2Piper 408 Report post Posted February 24, 2021 I didn't see it much differently to how you described but would like to add that not as many northern trainers were down as usual so they not likely to bid on something that havnt seen in the flesh even though the online bidding system seemed to work well and online updates etc were on the website. Western Autralian trainers were also missing ( not sure how many were online ) due to covid. Did see Scott Phelan and Steven Reid there yesterday. Most of the Northern trainers who usually buy at least had a dabble though many probably filled their roster from the Auckland sale. Interestingly some Southern buyers were more active in Auckland .....and the average higher in Auckland. Despite the record aggregates and excellent averages etc I suspect there is a bit of nervousness as to over investing in horses to be based in North Island.
