A good first move for his health and other's safety, IMO. Baz (NZ)

ngatimaru 51 Report post Posted February 2, 2021 IMHO. 1 Doesn't need the money. 2 Wouldn't have the bottle. To ride over fences. Mind you the way they have chopped them all down, a Chihuahua could clear most of them. But the Big Boys that love riding over fences would have a ball, be like throwing a Rubber Ducky into a Spa. It was a bit like that when I started. But it was worth $10 instead of $5 for a losing ride. And once you had 5 rides over fences you Qualified to ride in Highweights So that was 1 extra ride per week. Baz (NZ)

TurnyTom 1,542 Report post Posted February 2, 2021 OP has weight issues He should get on the phone and talk to CWJ. The magic man, NZ's premier champion rider, can ride at 54 and wastes to get 53 on special occasions Despite all the BS around Chris, he is one hell of a disciplined guy and without that mental strength would struggle to ride at 57 Just my advice to OP, the difficulty would be the extreme mental strength required, but CWJ does it for 10k maiden races and wins Ring Chris OP Baz (NZ), Insider, soliloquy and 1 other 2 1

Cant have rules that are bended to suit. Weight issues are discipline issues. Well Trump the stipes banned him from accepting below 57.5kgs for 4 weeks last Sunday and the fields for today did not come out until Wednesday so how did he even become eligible to try and ride at 56.5 when their decree was that he could not ACCEPT below 57.5? Pretty obvious some components of his gear ( vest?, boots?helmet?) not included in the weigh out so "come in" Bernard or the RIU and tell us what went on. Any CCTV? chevy86 2,710 Report post Posted February 6, 2021 Scooby, no point being shy on confronting a serious issue. If the powers that be are not transparent then speculation sometimes helps flush out the truth. If it's not a gear issue then Bosson must have visited the Chairman's buffet or devoured 3 steak pies and a litre of Powerade after weighing out. He is recorded as weighing out at 56.5 so 0.8kgs (2lb) is a large gain discrepancy allowing for some loss during the ride! Maybe he was given dispensation from his stipe sanction but whatever, the punter was once again the loser and racing's credibility tarnished. Finally we start seeing the discrepancies a surrounding what Opie can get away with and the rest have to conform to. Who gave dispensation to take ride, RIU? Should have been fined last time he done it which was only a week ago and suspended this time like any other jockey would of. When wasting it doesn't take alot to put 1.76 lb or 0.8 kg back on

That is a much better answer than accusing someone of deliberately cheating when you have absolutely no evidence of it.JMO.
