stodge 1,912 Report post Posted January 30, 2021 ALMANZOR was a real superstar - the 2016 Irish Champion Stakes he won was the best race of the season in terms of depth. His first 2-y-o in Europe will be racing this season - it will be fascinating to see how they get on. We had an interesting pullout in the Racing Post on Thursday advertising the new stallions for the 2021 Northern Hemisphere breeding season. Darley's new stallions are EARTHLIGHT (by Shamardal), PINATUBO (also by Shamardal) and GHAIYYATH (by Dubawi). PINATUBO is standing at Darley Hall Stud in Newmarket for £35,000 SLF. GHAIYYATH, named 2020 horse of the year, has gone to Kildangan where he stands for 30,000 euro and EARTHLIGHT is also at KIldangan standing for 20,000 euro. Coolmore have Arc winner SOTTSASS, top miler CIRCUS MAXIMUS and the useful 2-y-o ARIZONA who never quite measured up at three. Elsewhere, KAMEKO is at Tweenhills Stud, owned by Sheikh Fahad and Qatar Racing. Shadwell Stud has MOHAATHER and Juddmonte have EXPERT EYE, both Group 1 winners. That's a really strong set of new sires and we'll see come 2024 how good any of them are. Baz (NZ)
