chevy86 2,710 Report post Posted December 27, 2020 A couple of interesting features about today's racing. 1. How quick were those times at New Plymouth! 3yr old 1400 in 1.22.12 and R65 1400 in 1.21.31. For real or fake news? 2. How rare these days for a trainer to ride their own charge to victory? Sally Wynne at Mornington on Ping Ping.
Baz (NZ) 1,722 Report post Posted December 27, 2020 1. Yes Possible Fake News? 2. Rare Yes...didn't win but just in last week here in NZ..... Chad Ormsby ran 3rd in the GR.2 Eight Carat aboard his charge Moana at Ellerslie on Boxing Day. Jacqui Fillmore ran 4th aboard her horse Orbit Jupiter at Matamata on Wednesday before Xmas. Both could record a win very soon.
mikenz 1,091 Report post Posted December 27, 2020 Looking at some of the old trainers,no offence but they would need to waste a fair bit to make the weight
gubellini 4,004 Report post Posted December 27, 2020 chevy 86 Sally Wynne is one of my favourite jockeys. Rides old style with full feet in the irons. Her favourite horse would have to be Sensational Swing trained by her mother Dianne. He raced 126 times for 8 wins. Unbelievably she rode him in all those races.
