New All Black Coach in the Hot Seat!

Recommended Posts

So, 5 Test Matches as Coach, 2 wins gives Ian Foster a 40% win %. Plus, a first EVER loss to Argentina! No doubt, Foster will be calling for a few tests against Papua New G, Zimbabwe and Canada, in order to get his Test win average up! Calling Scott Robertson!

How much longer do the All Blacks put up with the Imposters? Reiko Iaone, TJP, to name two? They are there on past performance. Foster the great Imposter has to go and NZ Rugby needs a clean out at the top for not changing the guard. Robertson should have been inducted on record alone. There have been a multitude of cases where regardless of the Code, Assistant Coaches have not stepped up. Foster is one of them / given the job on the coat tails of Hanson. AB’s are no longer feared.

NZ Rugby , if Scott Robertson not interested, should approach that Aussie bloke Wayne Bennett who is reputed to be the greatest coach ever.

A couple of weeks back he took a bunch of rookies with little talent or experience and caused a massive upset at huge odds in SOO.

Of course , our All Blacks then went and lost to a Australia after beating them by 58 points a week earlier.

TABcorp lost hundreds of millions on these games ,causing them to go into lockdown for betting trends to be evaluated.

And now the Argies beat the mighty All Blacks ,the most successful team in Sporting history !

But they did play a near perfect game so well done to them !

But betting trends being checked yet again !

If anyone knows Pogo's location ,I want to send him Cameron Smith's book for Xmas. It will be a cracker !.

Gotta be the GOAT.....now thats a sure bet....and how good is that Melbourne Storm outfit.Their coach knows a thing or two ,and time the AB's had a Coach who cursed a lot and kicked the furniture!

The AB's also need a coach who can handle ego's...too much time spent on adverts ,media ,maternity leave and sabbaticals to Japan to learn another culture .Haha .

Over inflated salaries and sense of importance....the AB's biggest barrier of late since Aussie sporting standards fell to those at Montreal 1976 !

Once Cameron retires the cupboard will be bare.....the Pacific Islands will run out of players ,NZ has most of them !

Settle down a bit guys. The coach didn't touch the ball. The players made some dumb moves, tackled poorly and made some poor decisions and handline errors. Two teams take the field. Generally one wins, one loses and this time we were out-played but remember 1998? That was the year the All Blacks lost five.......that's right, five in a row for those who remember, and though we've come to believe we should always be winners, life ain't always like that. At the end of the day nobody died. It was yesterday, lets get over it.

I'm fairly sure they sacked the Coach at the end of 1998 Blue 🙂

However I agree with your post.

Foster wasn't on the field making these errors.

- Kicking it dead into the corner from a penalty right on half-time (Mounga)

- Poor throw from a 5 meter attacking line out (Taylor)

-Giving opposition a love tap and having penalty reversed (Coles)

- Dropping a straight forward pass, with Caleb Clarke waiting for the ball outside you (Ioane)

- Stuffing up a midfield move on opposition 22 (Mounga/J.Barrett)

I thought many AB's appeared either rattled or under  motivated.

Wayne Bennett wasn’t on the field for last nights Qld Origin victory. But he and Mal Maninga still received the accolades for master-minding a magnificent victory. On the hand, NSW Coach Brad Fittler copped it for the big mistake in not including this years Clive Churchill Medal winning fullback in his squad. He admitted he made a mistake.

So really, Foster was not on the field but he has to cop the loss just as hard as his players. He is the “mastermind” . If that’s not true and you can’t accept it, then why did he get the job? Answer that without contradiction.

Look, I'm no great fan of Ian Fosters and have no intention of going into bat for him.

However, generally I feel across all sports, too much credit or blame, for wins and losses, is attributed to the Caoch/ Manager.

There was a ton of All Black experience on that field on Saturday and many mistakes made, often at vital times in the game. Those mistakes can't be attributed to the Coach.

Get rid of the water boys and wt's then the players/captain would be on their own - otherwise you dont know what messages are being relayed out there.      I am sure the water boys spend as much time on the pitch as the players do     🍼

You know your rugby alright . No second chances from you but I’ll take the 38 point win.

Great win and credit where it’s due! Foster keeps his winning rate at about 50% so, he’s earned a pass. But a great win by the AB’s over a tired World number ? South Africa and the NH will be a different story, so a lot of work to be done! Let’s not kid ourselves! Argentina and Oz are hardly benchmarks and Foster has bought up losses against both!

Gee Rugby so much like league now......just smash it up , high kicks , kick and chase etc while the laws are made to protect the team with the ball. If you don't have the ball ,it near impossible to get it back.

Two games in one night of a barrage high kicks was hard to take.......Tasman's great win over Auckland earlier was real ugly to watch. But a wins a win !

Any idea why Argentina made so many changes ? Very baffling that they exposed two young and relatively inexperienced props to start the game.If you don't have a scrum foundation you are doomed. Australia seemed to realise this....those Tongan boys seemed to have added a bit of grunt to the scrums.

And why would the Argies want to keep playing from hard on defence when down by over 30 points.....after 80 mins of failing to win a decent scrum ,a decent lineout and/or string together 3 x decent passes and handing up 2 x of the softest tries possible they thought they could march 80 metres after a gifted reversed penalty , designed to end match.

30 points would have been a 'good' result........on 80 % possession and territory with less aimless kicking it should've/could've been 75 points.Argy were lucky to get ZERO !

Is it a plan for next week ?

Watch this space !

Forwards were massive Tassie. Laulala certainly made a difference. Some of their players weren’t their best but you can only play what’s against you.

We seemed to ignore their little niggling tackles well too. Akira Ioane has matured a lot and could be the solution at six. He has certainly got the size. Dunno about his bro.

The backs seemed disconnected. Kicks to no one kicks to grandstand etc. Perhaps it was part of the master plan to tire them out for the last 2o mins. Well it worked.

Yeh great to see Tasman beat the Auks

Cheers Memphis,

With all the video analysis now ,it obvious the master plan was to kick in behind and / or to wings to break up defense pattern.

Scrums continue to be a mess and much depends on the refs interpretation.....players push it to the limit ,and the resets waste much time.

Even Justin M had a dig re scrums wasting too much time.....plus he wanted to say more about the overuse of boot !

Even the much loved #8 let rip with an aimless kick....but to his credit he goes @ 100mph and he amazingly passed it once too !
