tasman man 11 979 Report post Posted November 8, 2020 Melbourne Cup day at Ellerslie seemed very successful...... over 6,000 people in attendance ,a good standard of racing , track seemed good and crowd seemed happy. On course turnover good , hospitality options well sold. One relegation on day seems to have been generally 'well accepted ' tho I personally surprised it was upheld. And the rumours surrounding the building of a StrathAyr track at Ellerslie are now more than rumours and the wheels are in motion. Certainly brings hope to Racing in the North and NZ.
