One of the earlier postings which everyone has probably forgotten about was that I mentioned dead-heat rules apply, so wondering if you took into account the 2 x dead-heats for 3rd for the day. In both races you had 1st, 2nd and one of the Dead Heat horses for third

For the Dead Heat for 3rd you got 0.5 points, plus the 5 and 3 points = 8.5 points

Then there were the 2 trifectas so allocated 5 points for the Tri. So 8.5 +5 meant you were allocated 13.5 points for both Flemington races 1 and 4. 

So based on the dead heat rules you missed out on 11 points which is the difference between your 78 and my allocation of 67...

Hope that explains everything okay, probably answers lots of others too wondering why their lower than expected allocation of points.

A popular First Four result with Orphanpete, Ohokaman, Seddon, Insider, Jayar, Peter R S and Mikenz all striking it legitimately, while Houlahan's Dream, Sir Castleton and Paigezim also got it as a result of the Scratching Rule.

Just hope Pegasus9 decided to take their same 4 selections at Ellerslie as a First Four at the TAB because home it rolled to pay $3,599.20.... so moves them up the ladder.

Low scores from the top few so its now a tie at the top.

After the Ellerslie race (which I posted above) he was on 323. After that, there was The Cup Race 7 where he had Twilight Payment (5 points) and then Race 9 he had No 3 Lyre (2nd) for 3 points so the 8 points he picked up was from the 2 races.

(Race 9 No 1 was a Scratching which went onto 15 which was down the track so got nothing from the Scratching).

Pondarosa , you are doing a fantastic job , i trust you to get right , but then i'm not in the hunt . When the money's up the pressure ramps up , for some .

A change of leader after todays races with Pegasus9 hitting the front, not such a good day for our previous leader Disillusioned but is still in touching distance.

Races worth a mention are:

Rosehill Race 8: Only 6 horses started but only Seddon, Stoyd, Nomates and Slam Dunk got the First Four legitimately and Sir Castleton got it by the Scratching Rule. With all the Scratchings unfortunately most people went on to Irithea which faded.

Flemington Race 3: Pegasus9, mrzim, Rusty and Mikenz got the First Four ($507.70).

Flemington Race 5: Sir Castleton with the First Four ($2,583.80).

Flemington Race 6: Pegasus9, Majestic, Red Rum, Gruff and Goodison with the First Four ($224.00)

Flemington Race 8: As mentioned previously, 30 people were on Mugatoo which was a late Scratching. As a result of the Scratching rule, 10 people got the First Four ($277.50). Seddon, Ohokaman, Stoyd, Orphanpete, Cabbage, Majestic, Memphis2, Mikenz, L.J.Shannon and Tarantula.

We started off with about 50 odd races in the comp but we're now down to 6 races left, 3 of them at Riccarton next Wednesday.... So if you're within 200 points of the leader you're still in with a chance.

yeah a bit sad,

obviously this did have only have a few races left, but someone  needed a leg up and now ALL the sharks have been let back in  ....  

no bops to Pondy, who has done a fantastic job, but its seems a bit of cattle leg in the desert now ...
