I think they have been baffled because the race is outside black type so in theory if looked at quickly or by some computer it would be a lessor grade , bit like Karaka Million .I suppose technically it is lower grade but of course it's not lower grade .No one would write those comments if they had any sense . Trump 2,741 Report post Posted October 17, 2020 The after race interviews with Trainer Les Bridge and Kerrin McEvoy on Free To Air Channel 7 are fantastic. Especially with the Octogenarian Trainer! Great television. Baz (NZ) and Insider
Memphis2 1,078 Report post Posted October 17, 2020 Yeh Good theatre. He knew it would win.He also thought it would win last year. No luck last year but today he had no interruptions. Seems like a lifetime ago since Les trained the Melbourne Cup winner. One of the old brigade.Good luck to him. pogo(aus) and Baz (NZ)
Trump 2,741 Report post Posted October 17, 2020 How good was Les when asked if it was his fave horse and said “no, that has to be Hot Danish. My wife was dying of cancer and every time Hot Danish won, it gave my wife a huge lift”. Classic stuff. nzhorseracing 55 Report post Posted October 17, 2020 The comments aren't meant for the horses listed because the comments are for the wrong race. It's a data error. Trump
nzhorseracing 55 Report post Posted October 17, 2020 It's a big mistake, someone should be culpable. Its false advertising, the comments don't align with the horses in the race, its misleading. How does this happen for one of the most important races of the day? If it happens for the Melbourne cup and sweepstakes across the country get printed with errors, it's going to spell big trouble. We're Doomed 4,868 Report post Posted October 17, 2020 As Red Rum correctly points out above, the comments are done by computer which notices that some horses are coming back from Group company to a race that isn't a Group race, so therefore in the computer's opinion the Everest must be an easier race than most horses have been racing in. All too silly for words really. Dissident and Baz (NZ)
