How bad is the NZ Ref and AB Selectors?

Recommended Posts

Today’s Bledisloe match would have to be the worst display of refereeing I’ve seen since the Barnes World Cup fiasco. How bad is he? He should never ref another First Class game. The Aussies were robbed blind. Then there’s the Selection by the AB’s. Why do they pick players out of position? It never works. Reiko can only play in one position - Wing. If you can’t accommodate him there he shouldn’t be picked. The Aussies had a moral victory and with a neutral ref would have won easily. The Ref should go home and watch the replay - it will be his only test match.

he would have slotted a field goal without blinking.

The Underarm was legal! Cheating Umpire is different.

Experimentation borne of arrogance--thought the Wallabies without Folau and Castles would be easy beats.🤣

Your dreaming Jonesy.

If you watched the game without bias a close affair was always in the Offing... but blind freddy called for a droppy that NZ are rarely capabke of 😐

What are you on? Ioane’s foot into touch - no try. What about the rebound off the upright, fumbled by Clarke and offside AB’d gathered? Penalty in front! What about the 40m advantages he gave the ABs compared to the 10m he gave the Wallabies? You need to heed your own advice and watch a replay - without bias. The AB’s deserved to lose.

Hard luck Trumpet your Ozi boys could only draw. The wind was the crucial factor. Hope there is no wind at Eden Park. Oz def handled the conditions better. No chance of ABs taking a droppie at the end as it would have gone anywhere.

Bad form to be blaming the officials. Even a proper Ozi in Pogo isn’t going there.

Or Zinnie my man. Great last ten minutes. I was out of my seat. Should be a good series.

I’m a proud kiwi who barracks for every kiwi team playing an Aussie team. There’s a difference to winning with skill, style, grit and good old kiwi determination rather than relying on help from an incompetent performance from a referee. He will be canned in the Press. It was a good unexpected win 16-16 by the Wallabies.

Trump - It's Angus's turn next week.   For your sake I hope your statements don't rebound on you.

He was like most line umpires - MIA when it most mattered. Have you ever watched NRL? How many times does a “Johnny on the spot” Line Umpire not make a decision on whether a player has put a foot out? I’d say 90% of the time. They should get rid of Video Refs and make the appointed officials make a decision. Otherwise, get rid of the indecisive clowns and put school boys on the job.

You need to re-read Pogo’s Post Memphis. How did it go? “Biggest Aussie v NZ scandal since the underarm incident...”.

The Touch judge on the "Ioane foot in touch" sideline was the Australian ref, Angus Gardner. It was the Kiwi Touch Judge who told the Ref to check the Ioane "No try" grounding.

You don't want to go on about the Refs all the time. You could find a penalty at every ruck if you wanted too. They're inconsistent at every level of the game.....and they always put the whistle away in the final minutes.

Ref spends a week or two in AB camp prior to the Test. Penalty count “double” in AB favour, crucial offsides, entering ruck from the side - in front of the posts etc, all missed by the biased Ref. In the past, I’ve criticised Refs who have crucified the AB’s. It’s only right that when the opposite so blatantly happens, that I do the same. It’s comforting to know that World’s Rugby scribes overwhelmingly agree with my assessment of last Sat’s atrocious refereeing performance, even if a few biased AB supporters wipe their brows in relief in thanks for such an amateur job.

The Aussie Ref gave Williams the perfect lesson on how to Ref properly. He must have been embarrassed running the sidelines. The advantage Gardner played was precise, unlike the 40m and 5m differences bullshit dished up last week. Ash Gardner had a cracker. Williams should have a few replay looks at the match. He will learn how to referee at International level. In the meantime, RugbyNZ should demote him to 3rd 15 schoolboy rugby!
