richie 1,027 Report post Posted October 10, 2020 Great to see Jason Collett riding so well last couple of months. Our Jockeys are proving their worth. Daniel Stackhouse riding great as well as Michael Walker . James MacDonald not up to his usual high standards lately but I'm sure he will come right. He seems to be settling back.a lot lately, maybe trainers instructions, and running on for minor placings Memphis2 and jack
Baz (NZ) 1,722 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Jason Collett is the most under rated and under utilised rider in NSW. Has always ridden very well but is going extra currently. pogo(aus), JJ Flash and hedley 2

pogo(aus) 880 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 all great tactical rides too , doubtful any one else could have steered those four winners home. any young jock aspiring to great heights only needs to look at his winning ride on the autumn sun in the caulfield guineas JMAC , great jockey, up there with the best ever to come from NZ IMHO. Nerula 1,403 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Those Collett kids were taught by their parents to be polite and communicate with Owners and Trainers. In other words they make themselves available to opportunity. shaneMcAlister, Baz (NZ) and Gruff
chiknsmack 490 Report post Posted October 13, 2020 Jason Collett, along with Michael Walker and formerly Michael Coleman, LOVE sticking to the fence. Walker gets a stack of criticism over the ditch (including the nickname "Brain Damage") for his shit rides where he gets stuck in traffic and gives his horse no chance to win, but every now and then he finds a gap up the rail on something at odds. Collett has benefited from the Sydney tracks having hot rails for the past few months, most noticeably Canterbury. There's skill involved in finding the gaps, and in getting a horse through the gears quickly in the straight when you haven't been getting into it around the turn. And they're real tryers. But they'll give you plenty of "WTF are you doing?" rides and you need to take a premium price if you're backing them since they like being reactive from back-and-inside positions (as opposed to, say, Tim Clark or Nash Rawiller who look to be proactive and go forward as Plan A).
