chevy86 2,683 Report post Posted October 10, 2020 Aren't the brands checked against the saddle clothes before the horses enter the parade ring as I have seen some places in NZ?

No brands in Europe and lip tattoos in US still in use in think , microchips should be checked . In fairness to trainer he is operating a huge worldwide operation under extremely difficult circumstances with numbers in and out daily all over the show . The horses are sent over in decent numbers to UK and handed over to staff based in UK who may never have seen the horse , or seen them from afar months before . Still should have been picked up by microchip check though. He has to base separate staff in UK as quarantine restrictions on return to Ireland Insider and Pam Robson 1
Pam Robson 1,537 Report post Posted October 10, 2020 Yes, fair comments. It's a good while since I've seen microchip checks done here too. Just brands, plates and gear checks.

Just brands, plates and gear checks. Horse called Herman Sherman came over from Ireland to yard in UK in 99 . Herman Sherman then spent two months running under the name of Harem Scarem the other horse in the horsebox over and winning one as well while Harem Scarem stood in field , wasn't until months later , after a break and return someone checked his passport properly at the races and rumbled it . Herman Sherman was half the age of Harem Scarem and was the one supposed to be given some time . Willie Mullins yard brought what they thought was as a gelding from France and put him in a field few years back, the horse found hole in fence and made its way through one night and had a night of love with one his his decent racemares who was on a spell , the foal made it to races but sadly was fatally injured at races late last year within a week of the mare dying . Accidental was the well named foal , by Miguel Angel out of Airlie Beach . Pam Robson
