Trackside will be showing it at 10.24am(NZT) tomorrow.

By all accounts Dialed In looks like the one to beat, although you probably want to consider Twice the Appeal with the recent luck of Calvin Borel in the race.

Was there a runner that caught your eye UpInClass?

Just in case it comes in, ha - bragging afterwards never works - but seeing as the depth of field doesn't seem to be there this year I have had a wee flutter across the boards on the US totes on Pants On Fire - the upset winner of the Louisiana Derby when ridden handy and who jumps from No. 7 tomorrow and looks set to get nice a nice drag...

It'd be the first time a female jockey won the Derby, too, if it got up...

Toda, ESPN usually shows it live too - sometimes other races from the card as well...

The advantage with the ESPN coverage is that you don't have NZ-based presenters desperately trying to read out what the TAB staff have researched for them so they can appear to be au fait with US Racing!

Juvenile champion Uncle Mo, the second choice on the morning line, was officially scratched out of the May 7 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

The scratch came after days of speculation about the status of the son of Indian Charlie . He had been treated for a gastrointestinal tract infection that was diagnosed after a third-place finish in the April 9 Resorts World New York Casino Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. I), his first career loss.

Trainer Todd Pletcher and owner Mike Repole held a press conference at Churchill Downs at 9 a.m. EDT on to announce the decision. Despite having a top team of veterinarians who have examined the horse since he arrived in Louisville last week, nobody has been able to diagnose Uncle Mo

Cheers for that Prop. Best of luck with your bet tomorrow!

It's looking like yet another shocker weather-wise, seems to have been the case for the last couple of years.

I never really gave Animal Kingdom much consideration. But that was a very impressive performance, especially since it was just his fifth start and his first on dirt.

Rumpole backed jockey Robby Alberado because he is good guesswhat he gets hurt and johnny Velasqez gets the ride

$16 a win and $5 a place makes up for yesterday gotta be lucky sometimes!1

Ah, well done, Rumpole...

The Boss here had a dollar each way on it, too, as an interest bet - the horse being chosen solely because it reminded her of the TV program, Coro excepted, she loves...

(Why she loves watching animals on TV I don't quite fathom. When we were in KNP a real live zzzpard looked at her hungrily from 10 yards away and instead of her usual 'Aw, innit cute?' she whimpered a 'Save me!' to big macho me (who was, craftily perched, on the 'safe' side of the safari jeep...)

Good on you Johnny V.

One of the best jockeys in the world. You need to get real on here about your praise of average Kiwi jockeys. The last 20 years have been awful in terms of producing Kiwi Jockeys. The best we've done are guys like Michael Walker who are average by Australian metropolitan, never mind world standards.

If you watch some of the races on you tube from NZ during the 70's and 80's, you see harder and more competitive riding than you see now. Do the same for elsewhere in the world and you the the opposite. What's gone wrong?

I really think this horse has a decent shot at the Triple Crown.

He was clearly the best horse in the field in the Derby, and I don't think there's much to fear in the newcomers for the Preakness.

And then we come to the Belmont, which has tripped up so many TC hopefuls. Animal Kingdom is bred to stay all day. So that distance, which is just too far for so many horses, should be ideal for him.

Not saying he's definitely going to do it, but he's got a chance.
