fitzy 143 Report post Posted September 13, 2020 So the Ellerslie track yesterday raced as a slow 9. In an email to owners late Friday the CEO suggested it could be a heavy 10. The observant among you will recall that the track had a significant drainage upgrade last year and has not been raced on for around 5 months. I checked the official NIWA weather observation for Auckland from 30 August to 11 September which showed less than 30 mm of rain. So what was the point of the drainage upgrade if nothing has been achieved, other than wasting industry money and resources. Why were these clowns not forced to install a Strathayr track or similar which would allow racing every 2 weeks. For Ellerslie to represent itself as NZ’s premier track is a joke. The industry has no future if this is the best it can do. Chris Wood
We're Doomed 4,855 Report post Posted September 13, 2020 1.13 and a bit for 1,200m at Ellerslie and 1.10 and a bit for 1,200m at Riccarton, both slow. Must be confusing for any outsider trying to understand what a NZ slow really is.
