Here is another edition of my regular roundup of roughies , all at sydney , all very good prices R3 SO YOU WIN, a 2nd up specialist, 2nd last year in naturalism.TACTICAL ADVANTAGE a bit hit and miss but last 2preps has won 3rd up.LIFE LESS ORDINARY in good form last year (3rd this race ,4th mackinnon to magic wand ,melody belle)close to $20 for all ,excellent each way odds.As for the cup, the rain  means verry elleegant is favoured but avilius also likes it soft, has been scratched from a 1/2 million race he could win easily , is  proven at G1wfa level just like VE ,both racing against a field of handicappers  .

Good punting. Its a great days racing. If only we could get some of CTs oil on here.

I quite liked CTs comments too and was bit of fun watching his hotpots run .

He labelled that LibertinI as a good one last year and Orderofthegarter way before that  and he's gone OK this prep bar that shit run last week .

Agree with these two, though there are a stack of horses I like in the Cup if VE isn't the winner..

Roughies at Sydney: 3-4 Time Is Precious ($23), 10-16 Bright Rubick ($12).

Roughies at Melbourne: 3-7 Torbreck ($10), 5-14 Yatton ($17), 8-5 Gaulois ($19).

I backed Special Reward at a longer price than it is now to beat Deprive (RAND R5), might save on Deprive closer to start time. Keen on Fituese (R6) and Fabergino (R7) at CAUL.

Good luck with your picks, this thread overall has thrown up quite a few good picks and my original $100 is now $500 "proving" that value can be found by a bit of study, our collective picks are beating the market and I have backed a few of the others for a wee bit more profit after checking them out

Was a good run Trumpy, but agree Warning is a Flemington horse. Master of Wine does look the one to beat. The Internationals are the unknown but wouldn’t surprise me to see Prince of Arran right in there, he has been flying at Werribee apparently and Jamie Kah riding well. Bit surprised that Baker Forsman’s The Chosen One is 100/1....he won the Herbert Power last year and has less weight this time 53.5kg dropping from 58 last start. Mirage Dancer the other one that looks over the odds at 20/1.

Weather might play a big part yet if that rain arrives.

$21,000 first four....The Chosen One was huge.....👍

Excellent race. Wow, AVD was impressive, sustained run from the back. Same with Pof Arran. Warning disappointing. Chosen one outstanding, and the winner. Interesting to see MC weights after that. Quite a strong CCup for mine.

Don’t give upon Warning just yet HD. Freedman did say “they didn’t want to gut the horse” with a tough run in the CC as the MC was the target.

Flemington suits much better and if it rains 25/1 will look very tempting.

Yes, been umming and ahhing, checked the long range forecast, saw this morning it's still at $34/10 and temptation got the better of me so have had a modest go at it.  Possibly not good enough to win it, but with the right draw/run, good enough for top 3 I reckon.. Weirder things have happened in MCups.

Latin Beat race 1 Geelong , Walker up , drawn wide but out to his trip range if he gets a decent position from gate and bit of luck , lightly raced over career but new yard  seems to have found a little renewed life in him  . Won off 65 last year , now sitting on 63 . 21s and 5s on fixed , ive had a throw at stumps for  few coins each way  to start day .

If that means he wasn’t trying then Freedman should be charged! Silly thing to say.

Which may be fair enough but we all know what he means.....I watched the run and have replayed the race couple of times. Jockey goes back, has some room up the middle in the straight. Doesn't appear to go for the horse very hard. Seemed to finish off quite well for sixth or seventh I think it was.

Hope Probabeel can do it she is so honest and would be great for Joe and Brendon they have had a bloody rough 12 months...I still think Obriens horse Amoury is a big hope...I have taken a gamble Arcadia Queen won't like the rain coming...if it was dry she would be my pick.

Another saturday, another bookie beating batch of half baked beauties( pricewise that is) johnny get angry at $20 was making up ground very well last start against the same runners, polly grey gets a wet track that suits at $10 and humidor can win but has proved he is the best of the rest after the russian especially at the valley and on a wet track, so a horse proven on a tricky course versus "superior" overseas horses first time at the course$20 is great money.

Here is the latest lot of lessor lights to take on flemingtons finest JOHNNY GET ANGRY  went well last time, the longer straight should suit better than the valley $20+ TACTICAL ADVANTAGE was blocked for a run last start so if we get any room today $20+ will be like taking candy off a baby BRIMHAM ROCKS has made the trip from sydney to try to do better than last years placing ,this lot seem to take turns winning ,so the new blood from sydney has already won a lot of races this carnival, I am hoping for more of the same $10.

Hotham = Ashrun 4.80 the win fixed and 1.80 the place a decent cover .

Cantala = each way Chief Ironside 21s and 550 and Yulong Price drawn bit wide but 11s and 350 went huge in Epsom and I am convinced there's one of these big mile handicaps in him.
