This is a good start in making up for all the state houses they sold in their last 9 years in govt . Long way to go tho .

More ignorance ,they sold / gave away these houses to existing  housing providers , salvation army , iwi , etc .

Prime Minister John Key today confirmed the Government planned to sell 1000 to 2000 state houses in the next year to community-housing providers, with with more sales possible in coming years.

Government sells $30m worth of state houses after Labour promised to stop sales

The Government has sold at least 146 state homes, worth more than $30 million, since late 2017, according to figures released under the Official Information Act from state housing agency Kāinga Ora.

I'm pleased for you but let me get this straight , you heard a story you didn't believe BUT was supposedly true , but now you have confirmation , the story you heard but didn't believe BUT was supposedly true . So great , it's confirmed , you didn't believe it , and now also confirmed , it is supposedly true . FFS you have a stressful life , trying to work out what to believe , or maybe not .

Good luck with all that .

Now that's a clear sign of desperation , have you heard enough or should I  go on . Admit it this govt is incompetent, no depth of talent  that's why Hipcris has so many port folios   and billions of debt is being accumulated .

funny how a thread o the topic of breaching court suppression orders quickly morphed into  a free-for-all on Covid and politics/

i have some admiration for P4P challenging a pathetically anachronistic law; however, I doubt his motivation for doing so is anything other than narcissistic. He has too much 'form' to take the moral high ground over anything. Still, the decision will be interesting, as Gruff notes. Ca't see the learned judge handing out a Diversions sentence over such a serious matter - would set a dangerous precedent. A stiff fine and/or a month or two in the slammer, more like.

Well firstly this pack of unelected , appointed losers are in charge so they are solely responsible  for their failed decisions not anyone else , they should be judged on their successes or failures .

On the welfare situation , complete failure . Under National the young mothers with problems were lining up for education .

" Social Development Minister Anne Tolley says the number of young mothers requiring a benefit has almost halved since 2009, meaning better lives for these families and fewer long-term beneficiaries. Figures show that there were 48 per cent fewer teen mums on main benefits at the end of 2014 compared to 2009. Teen parents spend an average 19 years on a benefit, and have some of the highest lifetime costs of any group on welfare"

This trend continued until comrade cindy was appointed , weren't her baby pics nice .

Part 2 soon .

Bloody hell, those figures are old to be quoting........😬

Not surprising at all , 2 things , a challenge was issued and answered , 2nd politics applies to all aspects of life , some here voted for winston to save racing, politics , in the case of P4P it's politicians who produced a law that he may have  offended but we all know a quick glance on google the crim was already named so only politicians can alter a law which now seems obsolete .

His punishment IF ANY has yet to be determined but if he finds himself in the slammer for a brief period of time and he is contained when the election is held then the news is a politician has just changed the law to give prisoners the right to vote . Politics again .

And for you Ahjay the trend continued and figures are available up until 2017 .

Firstly you cannot have diversion if you’ve entered a guilty plea

I am not sure this statement is correct.  In order to get diversion you have to plead guilty.

There is absolutely no chance of jail with this.  Good luck.

Good old Shane ... always first with his hand up with the wrong fucking answer

Diversion doesn’t involve any guilty plea... all you must do is admit to the allegation / offence against you

In my case the Police said they would NOT oppose diversion, but then other entities got involved, and that’s why I’m licking my fucking lips ..... the after match speech will be of considerable interest as those who try to orchestrate evidence ( my QC describes it politely as “a factually incorrect statement “ ) will be exposed

Shane, stick to what you’re good at .... nothing ...

Then the law re diversion has changed, when I experienced it you used to plead guilty then you got diversion. If you were not guilty then why would you need diversion.

Sometimes it is best to do nothing....

PforP has had the guts to take on the establishment.  Good on him.  But spare a thought for me.  I am one of those people who would love to be in court to watch this greatest show on earth; but I am not allowed to enter Jafaville in the lockdown circus.

Bugger!

And the after match function with silver from Cascade River; phuck the cost; I want to enjoy life to the max because with my indolent and depraved life style I am unlikely to be around in 20 years.

And therein lies a very good demonstration of how little you know about life

Firstly you cannot have diversion if you’ve entered a guilty plea

Secondly there are no precedents because I’m the first person ever to be charged under this offence in NZ

Thirdly a stiff fine to you is hardly likely to be significant to me

Lastly......you need to understand the criteria required before you can get a conviction

I’m happy and relaxed ....this will end well, prize-giving will be entertainIng.....I’ll take my medicine ....and then the after match speeches will commence

You've got zero chance of seeing a custodial sentence ......zero......

firstly, the offence is considered too serious

Who is eligible for diversion?

Certain types of offending are considered too serious to be eligible for diversion. What is serious is generally determined on the merits of each case. Different types of offences have different aggravating and mitigating factors about them that might make them ineligible for diversion. For example, previous traffic offending and/or current demerits might prevent an offender from receiving diversion for a careless driving offence. Alternatively a clean driving record would greatly improve the chance of getting diversion.

Some categories of offences are serious enough in nature to generally be considered not appropriate for diversion, including:

  • burglary or dishonesty offences (in most circumstances)
  • violent offences including family violence offences (in most circumstances)
  • sexual offences or offences with sexual overtones
  • serious drug offences
  • traffic offences which carry a mandatory minimum disqualification
  • offences for breaching a court order

Pee4 - I am like Mr. Notts, we can't get past Mr. Plod and Sergeant Stedanko at the border. Will the aftermatch be televised?

Come on, P4P, haven't you been able to come up with some Covid-related excuse to justify a deferral of Judgment Day?
