Memphis2 1,078 Report post Posted September 21, 2020 And Oliver for betting on another horse in a race he was riding in. Ten years. Whoops ten months. And delayed so he could ride in the spring carnival.

That’s why JMac’s stupidity earned him such a long sentence.

JMac got much longer for betting on his own horse being a Kiwi Did J Mac bet on his own horse ? Answer yes , was the length of sentence on statute books at time Yes , did he have a decent retainer at time ? . Yes the best in world racing along with the Northern contracted jockeys. He messed up badly , learnt his lesson and came back , doubt being a kiwi had anything to do with it. Good on him getting back , he's one of best in business . JMac got much longer for betting on his own horse being a Kiwi You still don’t get it NextPlease. The “LAW WAS CHANGED” after the Oliver incident. JMAc was guilty under a new law concerning Jockeys betting. The two offences have no comparison because of the law change! You seem to be trying to suggest JMac got a longer sentence because he was a kiwi. How naive. JMac was making probably a $1m pa at the time of his offence, yet he bet on a favourite he was riding to win a couple of grand! Foolish and lesson learnt. I would think that one of his Mentors/Supporters from Pencarrow would have given him a good bake. The good thing about Ollies suspension is that it caused a review nationally by the ARC. Now there’s no grey areas. That’s why hyeronimus got such a long stretch for betting.

The stewards think they know more about how to position the horse or rate it than the likes of Bowman?
Trump 2,741 Report post Posted September 26, 2020 Most if not all of the Racing Media were critical of the suspension Bowman got for the Farnan ride and agree with his appeal being upheld.

Red Rum 1,833 Report post Posted October 28, 2020 9 hours ago, Archer said: this ... Just trying to be charitable , maybe straight after Bowman has to weigh in , clearly he would be in shock and probably it's best he steers clear of professionals who were treating Andrew . Then it gets into messy legal issues , does sorry admit some kind of liability in later court case if a clever brief twists it . Bowman clearly hard nosed pro , maybe as a short period has passed now he has made contact, this post on Facebook was a while ago now . He may have reached out to Andrew by now . It was a terrible move to be fair , Iam no jockey but I've watched some races and it just looked all wrong.
