That last race today for Davey Mac was a easy call, simply couldn't see them in the fog.a risky date but in the end all done and dusted be  good if all the turnovers were able to be accessed to see how today went.

Well this is not going to happen , well done to all the trainers and owners that are supporting this meeting , enough nom's to run 10 races , good luck to all and have a great day .

Must be having a great winter down there , track only H10 .

That guy Tyler had 23 runners.

It will only get closed when AWT at Riccarton is operating Do I agree-NO

That comment was a bit of sarcasim, surely Timaru and Oamaru will stay, fina a all weather track(possibly) but keep the better tracks going too.

Amazing what happens in the regions when you run a race day on a weekend, not on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Plenty of locals on course, the bar was busy and the caterer ran out of food.

Good fields, good winter track and great racing.

Strange article though. Bit of a worry if 300-400 people is the biggest crowd they have had for years. And the President only wants to race there for another 3 to 4 years.

It was a very strange article - the Christmas meeting attracted a really good crowd and 6000 people signed the petition not 600.

I think the president has been misquoted ......

Surely they wont stop racing at Timaru, Oamaru an all weather track is probably ok for insurance but grass tracks especially in dry places (mostly)is still the best way, looking at Timaru yesty, and Riccarton last week they just about need one at Riccarton just to be racing

The lack of racing knowledge in just about all newspapers these days means that you get some quite bizarre articles written about racing. It makes you wonder about the quality of reporting about other subjects that we know less about, but just assume the reporter knows what they are talking about.

I love when i'm reading stuff in the morning and in the section for horse racing there would regularly be a story about motor racing . Racings , racing to some people i suppose .

It's fair to say a lot that write for the news are lacking a lot of experience in many fields,a lot have had to diversify on what they write just to stay in the job.the media is going through a raft of changes.
