A shame to have it sitting in a wardrobe. There must be a racing fan out there somewhere who needs this - the price is an absolute steal! I have it listed on Trade Me. Cheapest one by far of these big limited edition books. The green box it comes in is a little faded in parts due to sitting on my coffee table for years. Leather Bound Gold Edged in a Linen Covered Box Details: 545mm H x 390mmW x 55mm D I am in Karaka (Drury end and very near the motorway), so pick up due to weight and size. Anyone interested in the history of some wonderful horses accompanied by great artist prints of them grab it quickly. There were only 2000 numbered copies printed, with everything destroyed after they were printed in 1980. Originally priced at $330.00 back then and worth much more now in my opinion. rdytdy 5,341 Report post Posted June 30, 2020 On the inside cover of the book I have here there is a good sized notification: It reads: ALISTER TAYLOR PUBLISHERS Waiura, Martinborough, New Zealand NOTABLE NEW ZEALAND THOROUGHBREDS Mary Mountier, Allan Hunter & Peter Kelly This copy has been checked by the Publisher and is a certified copy in the edition of two thousand copies published in 1980. The plates were destroyed after printing. NO. 487 Also enclosed was a paper booklet telling you all about the authors etc and under specifications it states: The printing will be to the most meticulous standard, all stages personally supervised by the publisher. Each copy of the edition, limited to 2000 copies, will be checked and then hand-numbered. The plates will be destroyed immediately after publication and the book will never be reprinted, thus ensuring the book's value as an investment. Ted, I believe the Publisher had a very chequered history with "figures", especially financial ones, so the print run may be contentious. Interesting what future value would be with millennials not interested in collectibles other than sporting kit and possibly Kardashian underwear! Family photo albums, stamp collections, historical books, hand-written letters etc all scorned by this generation who have their whole life in hand-held digitalisation.
