I have known many of the Stipes for years. They started out as very enthusiastic harness racing people and many of them obtained licences to drive. They subsequently got jobs as stipes and they didn't seem to have lost their enthusiasm for Harness Racing. In the last 3 years or so, something has changed and the RIU attitude changed to a them and us mentality, The stipes appear to have lost their respect for the the trainers and drivers and an attitude of regarding everybody employed in stables and as drivers as corrupt crept in. The establishmen of the RIU as a seperate organisation under their own control has not worked . The RIU must be closed down and should revert to each code employing their own stipendiary stwards, with the Chief Stipe reporting to the board of each of  their respective codes

Stables - there is light at the end of the funnel.     Yesterday Benny Hill was only warned for having wrong colours - in the past it was a $25 fine!!       The "big three" were officiating so you would have to believe a precedent has been set.

Excellent summary of the present position and how we see RIU

4 race meeting 41 races and not one fine! Are they in shock with what’s happening in court!

I reckon they’re cringing

The RIU has many good people in it, fine people, but there’s a small cluster of very low individuals in there too, and that must make the good bastards cringe with embarrassment when they’re mentioned in the same breath as the bottom feeders

It will be interesting too see if Winston peters stands by his statement on the 5/9/2018 that the raids showed the integrity unit was working as it was intended! And how much  influence come from higher above too proceed with this what now should be called operation stuff up after the police were not interested! Price tag apparently over 4 million!

The first question I’d be asking ( and it will be asked ) is HTF did The Organised Crime Unit ever get involved ??

That’s sledgehammer meets peanuts right there

Rumours abound as to who drove that, and what the OCU was led to believe, but they must now be scratching their heads and asking themselves WTF ? after last weeks prosecution train wreck before Judge Neave
