Nerula 1,389 Report post Posted July 10, 2020 What is lacking is accountability at club level. We have seen even ARC fall into strife in the past and then through good management battle back into profitability. It is not possible to be punitive for poor decisions with a club set up but it is possible under a company structure. But there needs to be critical mass to afford even a slim corporate structure. To use the north as an example Whangarei, Auckland, Avondale, Counties.form Northern United Racing inc. Whangarei and Auckland have a management tie up already I am told. Waikato and surrounds form another company. Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Wellington another. Central Districts Taranaki and Taupo.. Thats the North Island. The Clubs continue and the members become B shareholders. To vote the for.directors but B shareholders are bound by the agreed constitution of the club. The main thing is the Directors now have liability under company law. Thats the stick and then there needs to be a carrot, ie an incentive to perform. Maybe even competition. Talked to a learned man recently who has vast experience and a professional background. He said if the northern clubs united and realised some land assets the rest of the countries individual clubs wouldnt be able to compete with a Strathayr track, higher staskes and even appearance money. Thats the reason why Avondale got 5 more meetings. On agreeing to engage in discussions. I know there are hard feelings of self interest and how the little guys get treated but with unity comes strength and at last democracy for them. Only small minds can stop this train to success coming down the track. If they do its oblivion for all concerned. If you dont like the above dont do a "pile on" Give us your opinion. Status quo?????
