And the result of the race was?

The thing is UK and Ire lose weeks on end sometimes due to frost so they pay their way through betting revenue , some of these  all weather tracks race at night under lights , they are night out venues now , restaurants , bars , somewhere people actually go of a night .We don't lose weeks on end here .

Iam still gobsmacked Riccarton has 3 mill , they should buy a few pots of paint once in a while and repair the crumbling walkways .A sand track in middle of turf track at Riccarton , there's no getting people there , and no gain I can see through extra punting revenue .

The run home from turn might put punters off , not so much the surface . If you've done your dough if you not got a position by point of entering bend in most punters not going to be overkeen I'd guess .

What about when the bean counters shift Oaks day to Awapuni due to a dodgy forecast.

Pitty and co have to take half their team home cos they can only run 10 per race in the velodrome...and a falsely rated 50-1 shot by Dalghar leads all the way to win the Oaks,  thereby quadrupling the value of her siblings.

I'll say it again till the cows arrive in the barn. The only way an all weather will work properly (looking forward for the next 30 years) is that the tracks should take 20+ runners and the straight needs to be at least 600m long. This is not rocket science. I've been to so many all weather race tracks with short straights and the racing is wrong...very boring and very predictable because if you get slightly out of your ground, you're no show. So barrier draws seriously important. So when people understand this, they don't run from out wide, therefore small fields, therefore lower betting.

Why aren't they looking at alternative surfaces (tapeta comes to mind) so that you don't need to make it all weather only?

Is that extra lane on the left a shortcut for those not handling it too well?

Extra lane takes out all the other working tracks and takes out the$350,000 new inside bend. They must be flush with money to waste that or has John Allen taken over as CEO
