It's not just these higher profile people ,what about younger industry workers what are they thinking . Save some cash , get on a plane and move to aussie , or get out and do something else . Or the younger person thinking of trying racing for a job , certainly would be having 2nd thoughts now . Certainly the career pathways are get narrower .

It is all very sad. Perhaps this current disaster is timely because it has brought everything to a head. It all comes down to a lack of leadership at so many levels for many years. As people have said, putting the same people in charge of running racing and running the TAB was a big mistake. They are two totally different jobs and it has meant racing management has taken their eye off the ball in a big way.

Isn't it interesting, racing seems to an industry where no one ever seems to fall on their sword. They just get a golden handshake or move to run greater wgtn, or even worse, just stay in the job and do even more damage.

Long gone are the days where everything in racing was run voluntarily, these days everyone is paid, from the very over the top, to the attendant on the birdcage gate.

Have you noticed the large numbers of staff that follow around rugby teams these days so many positions that were once not required.
