rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted April 11, 2020 Interesting, only 14 out of 79 entries made a profit on the day. Tough going it appears.

Indeed, other than the main Group races the form a little hard to line up. Not to mention the track...if a NZ Group 1 day raced on a track like that.....a bog.....all the talk would be about the 'off'' track. Slurs all round. NZ horses did well.....the true 'world class' field over glamour 200m distance saw....... Uk ...first , Japan ....third , with NZ 2 , 5 and 6. The Sydney cup......'slog in a bog'.......Kiwi quinella. But no real surprise there. Was there an Aussie horse in either of those races ?
Jape 344 Report post Posted April 12, 2020 Thank you for such an interesting and extremely well-organised competition. A lot of fun - and cost-free! Congratulations to the winners. I am sure everyone that entered will have a hard-luck story. Mine was that I had backed Con Te Partiro the previous start but dropped it yesterday. However, to finish 7 th for me was outstanding. If memory serves me correctly, I was last in one of these comps a year or two back!
Ponderosa8 1,363 Report post Posted April 12, 2020 Hadnt even considered it earlier, but started thinking...."what if I'd also included the Quaddies, Pick 6 and Place 6 in the competition how it would have ended up". So sitting at home twiddling my thumbs I decided to find out. Your total spend for the day would have been $1,770 (obviously taking $1 units in everything). Zappa went from a finishing total of $86.60 to over $20k thanks to getting the Place 6 ($636.30) 32 times. Paigezim, Memphis and Ohokaman would have jumped up nicely too.. 27 people would have got Place 6 of various amounts from $1,272.60 up to Zappa's $20,361.60. The cost of putting the Place 6 on would have been $729 so a nice profit for some if you were game. 8 people would have got the early Quaddie ($1,218.30) No one got the 2nd Quaddie or Pick 6 obviously. 23 people would have made a profit for the day. If i'd missed your initial selections I would have surely picked up my error when trying to input your Scratching so a real head scratcher. Can confirm your total was $103.30. d.burrow - Joan 224 Report post Posted April 17, 2020 Beecee, private message him by using the envelope symbol at the top right hand corner of the main screen. I have just messaged him saying the same as you, and have asked if it's ok for Joan to delay advising him what the bet is, until after the scratchings have come through. scooby3051
