So a carpenter can build a house or do renovations on his own property during the lockdown but a trainer can not work his horses! I am still trying to understand how I can go to where my horses are stabled and be there to feed them and tend to them ,but can't put them on the jogger??? There are 2 other trainers at the property which we don't have to have any contact with and we have all our own gear. From what I understand it was a decision made by MPI??? Why would they be making those sorts of decisions for OUR code??? Was talking to my best mate today who is watching this unfold while , owed about $ 100,000 by clients that might not be able to pay him now through no real fault of their own . He is in an industry deemed essential, has thousands of dollars worth of other orders ready to go. Problem is although his industry is declared essential , his clients can't put through any more orders to him at the as the infrastructure that clients need like contractors that come in and work land with heavy duty machinery etc are deemed non essential. So ruling this industry essential is not worth anything , as they have been simply stopped dead in their tracks. Asked him what can he do , knowing all he has worked his guts out for may be gone forever. Said sitting in the sun today with a rum and bourbon in one hand and a joint in the other wants to shut it out for one day, back to the gut churning uncertainty tomorrow. ivanthegreat 1,123 Report post Posted April 3, 2020 Somethings not right , the stage 4 shut down was well intentioned and got all the support it needed BUT suddenly we get tens of thousands of overseas arrivals that simply seem to have ignored or at best flouted the regulations to stay at home PLUS the visitors who were on holiday who just kept traveling and what have we got ? A half arsed result despite every average kiwi household making supreme sacrifice . Most of it designed to keep you out of A&E as they will not cope with the C-19 inputs at some stage.
