I think Gruff that the 4 week marker will obviously be very telling regarding identifiable cases and the disease trajectory in NZ. More importantly it will "reset" the acceptance level by the population of this Government's strategy. We are a nation of respectful, tolerant individuals who trust and generally respect our corruption-minimalist leadership of whichever persuasion but that will rapidly dissipate if the "modelling" does not translate into a visible relief pathway. There must be a point where tens of thousands of possible carriers can no longer pour into the country whilst the resident population is under an extended house arrest, albeit that it was highly commendable to allow a period of grace for ex-pats to return to the safety of NZ. A neighbour of mine had his brother return from Ausse , he arrived in AK feeling a little off , Go into isolation was the advice , he got on a plane and returned to Wellington and then travelled north . Who know if he spread the problem or not , time will tell but 6/8 weeks minimum . Could be 18 day incubation , nobody knows . According to Radio NZ on Tuesday, 50,000 came into the country last WEEK, of which 30,000 were NZ residents and 13,000 were either on resident Visas or were partners of NZers. Fake news? There has been, according to Auckland Airport arrivals schedule, 12 international flights landed in the last 2 hours. Further ahead it does look as though most flights are cancelled which will allow the time for the landed "carriers of Covid 19" to be monitored?? Otherwise there'll be a big run on shotgun bullets.

No doubt. 14 % of people carry Sars 2 with no symptoms, One pitfall of very condensed populations, add elderly and/or sick to that equation the numbers have to look scarey. Harvard epidemiology professor Mark Lipsitch who has been quite accurate from his early assessment says 70 % of the worlds population could be infected and this will become the 5th seasonal flu, these flus have multiple Ribonucleuicacid strands not singular so will mutate beyond Human interference. Look up Hydoxychloroquine, it seems effective in its ability to stop this virus but interferes with hundreds of drugs prescribed to manage already sick people, not to mention its side effects.
