THIS IS SERIOUS PEOPLE MAKE NO MISTAKE

Recommended Posts

This is very serious I trust you anyone you know would not like to end up like this, please stay safe stay home and look after each other.....

Make no mistake.

When loved ones are removed from your home by ambulance because the virus has hit them hard, you are not going to be able to follow them there, sit by their hospital bed and hold their hand.

You are not going to be able to pop in at 7.00 pm for visiting hours.

They are going to have no one other than exhausted and brave hospital staff to see them through days or weeks of barely breathing through a ventilator until they either die or recover.

They are not going to be well enough to text you.

You are not going to be able to phone the ward to check in on them regularly (staff will be too busy for that). During that time, they will be completely alone, while you sit at home waiting to hear whether they have made it through.

Imagine that person is someone you love dearly. Because it's going to be a reality for many in the coming weeks.

And if that person in hospital happens to be you, going through that ordeal completely alone, it would be nothing less than terrifying.

Please stay home and only go out if absolutely necessary. Social distancing is imperative right now for your family and mine.

Distancing is all good Scoobs but surface contamination and contaminated moisture travelling on dust particles is another, the fact people have to go down to mix with others at food outlets is just one of many pitfalls, they go on about panic buying but surely those stocked up enough for the duration are the most sensible. ? Particularly those sharing isolation with elderly or immunocompromised :rcf-sad-1: Best of luck

Disappointing to say the least, but the correct thing to do.

I've got a dozen grandsons Crusty. Can lend you some if you like - none of them new though but in first class second hand condition.

I think in nz we can beat this,we see from overseas and learn from them, our isolation and only water border is our good fortune,I actually reckon though that those who are stuffing it up for others in some cases should be thrown in a detention centre and left there for 28 days,

You guys are slightly deluded if you think closing the joint down for 4 weeks is going to eradicate Covid 19.  Are you going to keep the borders closed until a vaccine is developed?  Because that is the only way you will keep the disease out of the country.  And in the meantime you will have hundreds of thousands unemployed and businesses gone bust never to reopen.  Is this really what you want?  Remember, NZ has had no deaths so far.  Is it worth shutting down the economy and forcing many into extreme hardship to do something that probably won't even achieve the result you want?

Our trade is getting out in some cases,if they stop the new cases then maybe the borders can be policed properly and we can move forward

Not curing the disease but killing the patient.  It isn't remotely likely that what is happening at the moment will rid the country of corona virus.  People might just have to face up to the fact that some elderly and infirm will die, just like tens of thousands of people die of the flu every year.  We don't have the country in lockdown every winter because of the flu, yet far more people die of it. The vast majority of people who get corona virus will fully recover and will have immunity after that.  What Ardern is doing is misguided and will cause immense damage to the country.  The top medicos in Australia say shutting down the country will achieve very little and they do not recommend it.  Where we live in Australia it is very much life as normal.  Pubs and restaurants are closed but that is about it.  Racing is continuing with the public barred.  NZ will live to regret its little experiment in socialism.

I believe history will prove that New Zealand made far better decisions during this crisis than Australia

You could be right although there will always be certain elements (hint..hint) blaming the government.

Looking around given registration, single use and tracking I believe the car can be defined as a home which would allow a host of services to carry on. Offcourse exiting the car in public places would be illegal.

The panic over a Jockey with a travel recorded between Sydney and Melbourne and abandoned meetings and cancellations must be over.

The ten possible jockeys that this could have referred to are all back riding again. But to change the subject slightly I will name the countries

that must have idiots in charge in order of reactions to Co Vid 19 ..... UK, USA, Australia, Iran...... Congratulations China..... for actions taken and

although he is crazy too North Korea ...... but few would be going to that country would they?

Yeah that approach is going really well in Italy and Spain and perhaps the US and UK right now ...

Personally I agree with the current course of action.........BUT I am realistic and old enough to understand life in NZ as we have known it will be very different from recent times.

I have worked overseas when younger for about 7 years and had a taste of overseas travel in recent years. Even though Kiwis are very one-eyed about the quality of lifestyle we enjoy ,we have been very fortunate and our disadvantage of our remoteness to rest of world is also a huge bonus.

We have an abundance of life essentials......Food , water , sun and ?????..many !

Our government and lifestyle is generally free of corruption and we have democracy and personal freedom ,freedom of speech etc.

We have very good educational institutions and produce many very smart people in Health and technology.World class !

Technology means we are in touch with the world and time wise we see the sun first each day.

I believe we have all our needs met and plenty of opportunities.

Sure we have a lot of 'have nots' and in recent years this gap has widened.

Sadly this Virus and the aftermath will kill a lot of businesses and many will lose jobs.........our booming tourism business will suffer for years.

Like NZ racing ,the Guvmint has overspent for decades and put resources into wrong areas .............our size will make recovery a slow and difficult one but the quality of life ..the food ,water etc is still abundant along a good attitude !!!!

Many find change difficult....attitudes are vital Its not what happens ,its how you take it.

Dont cry.....create.

Create success in the future ,don't moan about the past and stuff you don't control .

Amen!
