Uriah Heap 481 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 With Super Rugby closed down, my son who plays Senior club rugby reckons he'll now be playing against All Blacks; like back in the 70's. Patiti and Memphis2
eljay 1,711 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 yep. If this happens though, which most of us would love to see, this could start a scramble for money because back then payers were amateur. And the state clubs are in these days and with very limited means of raising money - driving laws and the like - there will be very little available to pay the players, if any!! crustyngrizzly 1,682 Report post Posted March 16, 2020 Talk is that if Super 12/5/18 or whatever version it is shut down then players will return to their provinces and NZ Rugby will introduce a nz internal comp. Heard the NRL bleating about how close they were to being broke, the question should be what have the NRL,NZ Rugby union done with all the money from the broadcasting rights they sell. Have they not heard about putting some away for a rainy day, because that day has arrived. Patiti
