Big Boned 32 Report post Posted February 5, 2020 The fields are amazing. Potential everywhere. 5 fillies trying to sort out who is best. No doubt atleast one of them will give a big race in Australia a shake. Dragon Leap is the star but has a huge test. A Cox Plate placegetter at Te Rapa, this is awesome. Avantage! The Herbie Dyke looks a cracking race, as good as you can get in NZ. Top NZ form tested against Luvaluva. If True Enough or Beauden roll her why cant they win a good race in Australia? Doomben Cup? Tauhei Notts 1,413 Report post Posted February 5, 2020 Sometimes, particularly at this time of the year weird things occur. Matamata had a $10,000 maiden two year old race and had to ballot out several horses last Sunday. Te Rapa will have a $30,000 two year old race where the top rated runner is a maiden, and they get six runners. tasman man 11, shaneMcAlister, arjay and 3 others 4 1

If all it takes for some of our topliners to lose is for Luvaluva to win, well it may be a very lean autumn in Oz for the Kiwis. Crowd looks very very thin , is that the case ? TAS looks very skinny at 1.60 , I wouldn't have a bar of him at that price id like to see Enzos Lad roll him . Tiptronic got to be some kind of ew value . Fifty Stars ew at Caulfield my only bet today . THE TORCH

This meeting clashes with a 4 day weekend for many, big events mystery creek and Rugby as well, only so much money to go around. Couple that with the worst promotion possible and 95% of Hamilton unaware the races are even on. Baz (NZ)

Not only that... they closed the bar at 5:00pm before the last race and before the runners had even crossed the line! Too bad for the winning connections of the last few races wanting to celebrate their victories. Terrible treatment to patrons...basically saying piss off and get out. rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted February 9, 2020 Pretty much on a par with regard to horse numbers for the last three years at this meeting with the two 3yo races down on numbers this year. The Herbie Dyke the last three years numbers wise 10 9 10 BCD Sprint 8 10 8 There were some quality horses that went around yesterday and I thought it was a very good and interesting days racing. If you didn't enjoy that you are hard to please. Baz (NZ)

With Aussie racing following on its commonsense to keep at least 1 bar open for an hour after the last to mix n mingle and have a couple more punts . You’ll find the bar staff just want to get outta there ASAP.Club needs to step up and sort out whoever is running the bars. There was a GR.1 in Aussie still to come after the last ironically won by a Kiwi trainer who left! There were still plenty of tables with connections celebrating their runners achievements and in no rush to move on. This was a Group One Day not some hack day! In saying that...the club couldn't even think to invest in a big screen for the days racing so probably no show of getting a beer for patrons once racing had finished. puha
