eljay 1,720 Report post Posted November 17, 2019 Have you noticed the cost of petrol has risen markedly over the last 6 to 8 weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if you answered "no" . But the really cunning tactic they using at the moment is to just rise the price 1 cent each week which nobody really notices but - wow - after 6 weeks the price is up by 6 cents and it don't show any indication that they have stopped yet!! For example BP Birkenhead were 2.09.9 now 2.18.9 (I think) BP Northcote Road 2.25.9 were 2.18.9 Z Northcote Road I think are 2.25.9 or 2.26.9. Mobil 2.25.9 up from 2.12.9 in same period. Thats just in close proximity to home. Of course BP have now added a new price - the top one displayed on their tower - which is for present price less the discount if you have a smart fuel card.
