Grace Millane murder trial

11 posts in this topic

While still early days, it is hard to have any feeling other than revulsion for this bloke, who has for some reason still got name suppression ( despite it being plastered all over UK paper websites ) while continuing this charade of innocence.

Apart from the obvious lies, and his apparent lack of knowledge of CCTV these days, his behaviour has been appalling.

Who goes through a date's  purse while she is in the loo...?? Says a lot about character.

And if this was "an accident" as the defence is saying...wouldn't any decent person own up and say so....instead of looking at porn, potential body sites, taking photos, and then arranging another date.....????!!!   There's a lot more as the article says....

You have to feel sorry for Grace's parents sitting there listening to all this...must be heart wrenching.

Hopefully they get the right result and closure. I'll be surprised if this person does not have previous form when he finally gets named.

The other evidence given about this strangulation stuff during sex makes you wonder if he was seeing how far he could go....one had to feign unconsciousness to get him off her....was he leading up to actually killing someone or was Grace just the unlucky one..?

The Lawyer for the accused has now played the "My client wont take the stand" card.

This is now common practice in NZ murder trials. It's done to prevent the accused being shown in a bad light by needing to alter his story to fit the facts, such as David Bain had to do in his initial trial.

Taking a line through Bain's retrial and the trials of Chris Kahui and MacDonald from Feilding, I think the jury would struggle to find this fellow guilty of murder. They will likely agree he most probably did murder her, but can't be 100% certain of this. So its "Not Guilty"..........I hope I'm wrong. because his action "post-death, read like a man with a guilty secret, that he's looking to cover up.

Broadcaster and former australian Senator Derryn Hinch, went to jail for publicly naming Pardophiles who had been given name suppression. He named them out of “principle” and against the name suppression laws of Australia. After being jailed, he ran for an Independant Federal Senate seat on a ticket concerned with this issue. He was successful and became a Senator. Sometimes, brave people come forward and step up to the plate when the community’s (public) expectation is not being met by authorities, especially politicians and lawmakers.  When community expectation is not met, often due to archaic and out of step laws, then one can only admire those select individuals who have the courage to stand up for all of us! To that end, persons like Derryn Hinch and the accused in relation to the Grace case - should be admired. Those that should be charged are those that have the power and responsibility to listen to the electorate and change archaic laws, so that they are more in step with community expectations in the 21st century - but sit on their fat butts and do nothing!
