Yep she's a very good horse but hard to work out where she stands because the horses she is racing are not G1 WFA class. Horsegirl94 9 Report post Posted October 5, 2019 Great to see her get triple crown. She’s an absolute beauty, however Starcraft faced a genuine bunch of G1 horses in the final leg, and yesterday’s field was possibly the worst G1 field we’ve seen in a while. She sure gave them a galloping lesson. weasel57, Insider and Treat

frankie 119 Report post Posted October 5, 2019 A very good mare, racing in NZ. It needs Aussie group one form to be really rated. Treat, Breeder and Horsegirl94
Blue 1,084 Report post Posted October 5, 2019 Few comments elsewhere about her comparison with the earlier MB. I think overall the opposition was perhaps better and deeper in case of the former but you can do more than win - and keep on winning. Regardless of the opposition her superiority is without question. Another trip to Aussie would be the ultimate test. talk
Treat 63 Report post Posted October 5, 2019 Great to see for the team involved, and to show a bargain buy (in Te Akau terms), from a good family, bred by a lovely lady, can give people a lot of fun and success! But no comparison to the "glory" days of the likes of StarCraft! It would have had a lot more meaning if Te Akau Shark had raced in the first or second leg, there really wasn't anything else in the field yesterday that I would be punting on in a group 1 in Aus. A show of the really sad side of NZ racing, if they're good, they're gone! Some great racing to watch in Aussie yesterday, imagine if some of the "Kiwi's" racing over there yesterday had raced at HB, wouldn't that be so much more exciting in NZ, the way things are looking, something we won't get to see again, multi million dollar spring group 1's in NZ would have to be a very foggy dream! drewandjo 129 Report post Posted October 8, 2019 the field around Starcraft wasn't exactly full of WFA stars either...the winner was a good handicapper only…..and the depth around some of those Melbourne WFA races this spring hasn't been great either...looking at the Turnbull Finche will win the big handicap according to P4P, Hartnell is 9, Mystic Journey was given the kiss of death by CT & a couple of the imports look overated…..hopefully the best of the best will be around for the Cox Plate & Mackinnon Baz (NZ)
