How did Flowers say he made his money?

Baggage handlers don't get millions so what else did he do? Besides peddle drugs.

From an NZ racing angle this could call into question the judgement and business acumen of John Messara.

Bit of a rough call.....that logic means Alan Jones, John Singleton, Gus Gould & various other high profile people in syndicates with him are guilty.....

I don't think that but some could reach that conclusion. If any high profile racing identity could have had an inkling its probably Gerald Ryan.

THe strange part is that in April it was reported that a syndicate was being investigated for importing the stuff from South Africa. Can't see that Flowers would not lie low if he was involved. Perhaps he has been set up.

What a prick. Everyone thinks he’s a hero. Got all these great horses. Own horse complex. Throws his weight around. Big wheel in social circles

But it seems all he is is a drug peddler.

Just another dreamer.Yes a prick. A crash and burn situation hurting a few people on the journey.

The only surprise surely must be how long Damion took to be picked up! The worst kept secret over many years & loving all the faux surprise from anyone interviewed about the arrest.

They have no choice but to put on an Oscar performance IF they knew or had an idea. There nout so blind as folk when the money flowing their way .

I find this particularly interesting considering it came after Flower had sold stallion shares in Snitzel. Obviously he wasn't operating the "import" business then but I guess had a horror run on the punt. Must have been agonizing seeing Snitzel succeed at stud while broke therefore the motivation for the "importing business".

However, by 2012 Flower was dead broke and renting a modest two bedroom flat in Chipping Norton. In April that year he was bankrupted by his father Geoffrey who had lent him money which he did not repay. Another person pursuing him was onetime Melbourne bookmaker Simon Beasley.

But within two years Mr Flower’s fortunes had improved remarkably. In March 2014 he repaid the $100,000 plus interest that he owed his father and a handful of other creditors and his bankruptcy was annulled.

In August that same year he paid almost $1.3 million for a house at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The purchase was made through his company, Jadeskye Enterprises, which he named after his daughters. In February 2015, Jadeskye paid $4.5 million for a rural property in Clarendon, not far from the Hawkesbury racetrack. Since then Mr Flower, 47, spared no expense on turning the property into Platinum Park, his thoroughbred stables and training facilities.
