barryb 2,064 Report post Posted May 23, 2019 Bookmaker sign up deposit bonus offers will stop being advertised from Sunday, May 26. The National Consumer Protection Framework from May 26 will place restrictions on wagering providers offering incentives to open a betting account with them or providing bonuses for referring a friend. While corporate bookmakers can still be advertised online after May 26, sign ups will no longer include a bonus or deposit matched offer once new legislation is enforced commencing next week. Leggy 4,093 Report post Posted May 23, 2019 Yes. This will change the territory quite a bit I suspect. A number of other protection measures also. Will NZ follow suit or try to take advantage? https://www.smh.com.au/business/consumer-affairs/free-bet-crackdown-as-victoria-moves-first-to-toughen-online-gambling-rules-20190521-p51pjn.html
scoobysnacks 386 Report post Posted May 23, 2019 Yes, not good news in the industry. It's great if you have an established website, but makes it tough for the smaller affiliates trying to attract players. Many are moving to the US market. MS26 70 Report post Posted May 23, 2019 NZ can't take full advantage can they? Due to not being able to take Aussie clients??
Leggy 4,093 Report post Posted May 24, 2019 The potential advantage is that the NZTAB which won't have that cost for NZ punters, should be able to offer much better pricing.
