TimTimTimbo 227 Report post Posted May 20, 2019 He goes to the Meadows in Pennsylvania and wins a couple of divisions of PASS 3yo Filly trotters heats Then leaves there and goes to Meadowlands and wins 1 there, then jumps across state lines to Yonkers in NY and wins three there All in about a 10 hour period. then this morning (Sunday here) goes to Harrah's Philadelphia and drivers a couple there and hops on a plane to Ontario Canada and wins a $188,000 Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs. So He won 7 races and probably 10,000 in winning drivers fees. I would say he would be nuts to come home because he is showing the world what a great driver he is. He's gotten much more aggressive in his drives than when he 1st started here. He's doing us proud. JackSprat 947 Report post Posted May 20, 2019 I see on the latest US driver rankings he's at #18 on number of race wins in 2019, but at #9 on stakemoney won in 2019, which when you're paid on percentage is the one that counts! He's not doing a bad job to crack the top 10 drivers in the US after only about 8 months on the ground! He was also holding his daughter in the photo after Bettor Joy won her big race at Addington last year which I have hanging on my wall at home. Do you know Tim how much tax drivers would have to pay on their earnings. ? I’m guessing they have state and federal taxes. Yeah, he will have to pay state and federal. 37 percent over a million. 35 percent 500,000 to 1 mil. All the write offs and that and he probably would pay in the mid 20's. Just a guess. JackSprat 947 Report post Posted May 27, 2019 He's climbed his way up the ladder to #7 on the 2019 US Money winning list now, and is within reach of a top 5 spot. Quite amazing results for his first full season over there. Especially considering he started off with only a handful of contacts and no major stables behind him! lamour 662 Report post Posted June 13, 2019 Hi Tim. What month does the season start in the US?. I’m guessing it is starting to ramp up with the big stakes races to start soon?
TimTimTimbo 227 Report post Posted June 14, 2019 Yep, Now it's getting into the stakes races and July many more with the Hambletonian in August and there are tons of races on the Grand Circuit where they go all over the place. Most of the top horses will run in those then take the last few months of the year off and not reappear until April or May, so they get plenty of time off. QUite a few horses will race year round pretty much but those horses are often not the good ones like the 2 or 3 year olds. Bettor Joy has been racing since October in this campaign so I would say she needs a good rest now.
