I could, I know Chris :)   He loves life  :) and why shouldn't he.   If it wasn't for his resilience and to keep coming back no matter what you throw at him this thread would be nothing :)   Cheers to him.

Don’t worry Maria, I’ve got them all covered. The truth has a funny way of cutting through all the bullshit which I love. :)

Still waiting on Barry to tell us all what he actually does for Graham Hart & also Richmond Tige to tell us all how he knows “Dunc Hawkesby.”

You gonna tell us all Bazza? Are you the pool boy? :P

Best for half-marathon was 1:06:52. Still hold the NZ half-marathon record for masters 40+

Half Marathon     M40 T McLachlan 1:08:22 1996   Actually ran another in 1:08:17  at age 43 but they obviously missed it even though it was a NZ Championship race.

Only ran three marathons, all sub 2:30.

I wonder if I lost 10kg and trained up what I could run now. Probably across the road and collapse. :rcf-laughing-2:

Fark that Ted!  :rcf-sick-2: I've had enough after 100m! :rcf-laughing-2: From memory my best was a 12.flat and a 12.6.

When I couldn't keep up on the flat. I made it to the Waikato Champs for 100m Hurdles.

I ran 3rd in my heat... falling after the last on the flat (what a farkwit) :rcf-monkey: ran 17.something... which wasn't fast enough to qualify me for the final.

My training regime was no exercise, much beer & many cigarettes!

Haven't changed a thing and this has made me the champion I am today.....just like CBT :rcf-laughing-2:

Hahaha. Reminds me of that saying  " the older you get,  the better you USED to be. "

Yep...I turned up raceday in beer bare feet and was shocked to see all these pros with flash racing shoes that had funny little spikes poking out of the bottoms.

I couldn't afford a good blacksmith....I was running on pure talent...I tell ya! :rcf-laughing-2:

They still have spikes, whatever you do don't tell OSH , that sounds potentially dangerous in the extreme , someone could be seriously injured or even killed .

On the contrary flock I had an amazing time growing up at Auckland Grammar then Waikato Uni where I completed my BMS degree.

My two older cousins were also at Grammar at the time, Steve Colthart who was captain of the senior water polo team and his brother Mark.

Steve has managed several bars in Auckland including Neil Finn’s bar Tabac that he was in charge of for several years. He then managed Auckland’s premier boutique hotel Mollies before going out on his own running a very successful cafe in Ponsonby/Herne Bay.

Mark is a very successful barrister in Auckland specialising in arbitration.

Two of my closest friends I met at Grammar who were best men at my wedding also have lived here in Melbourne for well over 10 years so no, can’t say I ever had sand kicked in my face.....growing up. :)

Would you like to know about my wife flock?

I met her in an Asian takeaway restaurant around the corner from where I used to work at AAPT (an Australian telco that was purchased by Telecom NZ) where she was working for $5 an hour. She has since completed her Masters in Accounting at Melbourne University and her CPA and is now a Finance Business Partner for Brand Collective. I proposed to her on a Chinese Junk called the Aqua Luna in Hong Kong as recommended by the man in Chapel St who used to make my coffee, and can you believe it.........she said yes!! :)

Two are lies, the third I’m not sure about, so I want to know the identity of the allegedly “top” cafe then I can investigate and revert with the truth,

I’m very well connected in Auckland hospo, and you’re a known liar, so I want to flog you again.

I'm getting rather worrying S&M connotations there. I'm not sure who would enjoy the flogging the most.

Here’s an old FB profile pic short stuff from when he used to be the proprietor of Mollies. B)

How’s that investigation going?

Have you clarified that Neil used to own Tabac when Steve managed it?

I’m waiting with baited breath. :P

That Neil Finn owned Tabac ( the implication being that he owned it on his own rather than being a shareholder / investor with no management role )......and I’m yet to determine if this cafe existed.

As for Mollies, well it’s been owned for some years now by Murray Bolton and Sue Doughty, both of whom are well known to me so I’ll revert on that tomorrow ( bearing in mind that your relation may have had a management role there years ago ).

I suspect that your relation had a very minor role managing the House bar at Molies, rather than the hotel itself which is after all only a few rooms anyway, but I’ll revert on that too.

Don't know why you’ve bought the barrister dude into this but do tell...

You’ll be pleased to know I’ve had a few conversations with Mark where your name has come up short stuff. Surprise, surprise. :P
