Ponderosa8 1,353 Report post Posted April 1, 2019 Just been wondering how you think James Cummings is paid.? A "normal trainer" (here in NZ and OZ) gets a daily fee per horse and 10% of the stakes and out of that pays staff and feed costs etc. Assuming the staff and feed costs are paid directly by Godolphin, so more wondering whether he's paid a set "retainer" amount no matter how many horses he has and does he still get the 10% of the stakes. Any thoughts anyone.?
Trump 2,741 Report post Posted April 2, 2019 He certainly wouldn’t be eating Big Macs and I’m sure that Godolphin pay to get the “best”. End of story.

Pam Robson 1,547 Report post Posted April 2, 2019 Why is it anyone's business to speculate? There have been many 'private' trainers - both here and elsewhere - over the years, and the remuneration will be worked out to the satisfaction of both parties. I'm all for debate but this [ IMO ] is just being plain nosey. 47South and Fartoomuch

Insider 3,947 Report post Posted April 2, 2019 It will be in the millions and why shouldn’t it be? Their number one and two jockeys are earning millions per year ( it’s easy to work out) so why shouldn’t James earn similar? Then of course there is the shares (often part of the deal) when the superstar colts go to stud. Just saying.
