Overrated  and possibly the connections have worked it out that taking it to Sydney  would be a fruitless exercise

Some very strong noms in that Sydney Cup and some decent horses very lightly in . A lot of Japanese horses entered up  and couple of decent lightly raced Euros but race clashes with Dubai Gold Cup few weeks earlier so its one or other for them and those in UAE owned .Ladies First wouldn't get near those .

Exactly. The cup is no longer a poor relation to Melbourne. Money talks as usual with offshore raiders and not many UK ones return home nowadays.

So who is the best stayer in NZ ?

I’m biased, but probably Felaar when he strengthens up

Watch his videos, he’s a throwback to the 60s/70s, old school, tall and leggy, never travels on the bridle, never wastes energy, but can round off a G1 sectional anytime yo give him a kick in the guts.

I think he ran a nearly identical last 600 to Melody Belle at Otaki, better than every horse in the G1 mile except one, and he was 12 wide across the top.

He’ll win a very big race when we’re ready.
