Breeder 608 Report post Posted March 2, 2019 Once again we have one of our top 5 or so races run and Trackside cuts off soon after to go to some relatively low level Aussie race. I know this has been said before but we need to keep hammering the point. If they cannot understand that viewers want to share in the experience / excitement after a top race then they should get out of the way and let someone else do the job. Have a delayed run of the Aussie races. With all the alternative sports entertainment, around the industry has to fight for every viewer and potential new punter they can. mckenzie 607 Report post Posted March 2, 2019 Yeah that was disappointing. Also frustrating that we missed any build up of Winx's race because Ellerslie was so far behind. I don't know if it's possible but 3 channels would be ideal. One for NZ racing, one for feature Australian racing, and one for all the other stuff. At the moment they're trying to cram too much into the two channels and as a result the two feature races of the day were poorly broadcast. skelly 53 Report post Posted March 2, 2019 Can't speak for their Trackside coverage, but their Youtube stream of the Derby was excellent. All the pre- and post-race comment you could ever need. Shame hardly anyone was watching it... Black Kirrama

Didn't catch any of it on youtube today, but you are describing what Trackside TV was like 20 years ago (way better than what it is today). They have buggered it right up in the last 3-4 years. The youtube channel because it was live, offered no rehearsed segues or analytical comments, just personal opinions from those who had invested interests. Quite ground breaking I thought.
