scooby3051 10,929 Report post Posted November 1, 2018 Its a sad story for everyone concerned as I know the trainer concerned would never wish to harm anyone and I feel very sorry for him too...sad for everyone. Nerula 1,403 Report post Posted November 1, 2018 Its a very good reason to support Spinal Cord Trust or Catwalk if we are involved at any level in racing. Ant that includes the Punter too. It is our support of Racing that puts people in harms way. But spinal injuries happen in all sorts of other ways too. scooby3051 10,929 Report post Posted November 1, 2018 Exactly, we will be doing as much as we can in the coming months to give to as many of these such charities in different ways, as an industry we need to stick together and support those injured doing what they love. Scotch Thistle 133 Report post Posted November 2, 2018 (edited) The report says Experts consulted by WorkSafe found Malthus was not competent to have been put in charge of a racehorse at the Alfriston training track in July 2016, having been given no formal training, being not riding fit and having only ridden quiet horses and never at a gallop. I don't know that it will profit us taking this discussion further, best to allow the hearings to reach their conclusion on a fully-informed basis. Offcourse no one would ever wish the tragic outcome that has occurred here. The fact is Stephen McKee has been found guilty of gross negligence. No different if a drunk had crashed causing the same injuries then everyone would have been screaming blue murder. The McKee family have been great for racing and Stephen likewise, However lets get past this matey thing and learn from it. army
