John Clydesdale 229 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 In reading Mike Dillon's piece in the Herald this morning, the most curious question arises. Why would the Track Manager at Wellington ask the Chief Stipe if he should water the track? Is there something missing that has not been reported? In which other country have you ever heard of stipes being asked how you want the track, the amateur needs to go...
Joe Dzug 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 In reading Mike Dillon's piece in the Herald this morning, the most curious question arises. Why would the Track Manager at Wellington ask the Chief Stipe if he should water the track? Is there something missing that has not been reported? In this morning's Dom article the CEO said that the irrigation doesn't reach all parts of the track - so why ever irrigate? All it will do is make the track variable. As for the track manager asking the chief steward for advice, it sounds like a verbal resignation to me...

Dennis 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 Cameron George made it quite clear on Trackside that he told Biddle it was not George's role to give advice on how to prepare the track! What it does emphasise is that Biddle did not have a clue what to do last week in regards to preparing a track for Saturday. Yet he has been there 22 years! 2 major days stuffed at Trentham by chronic overwatering and management inertia.

The curator is in deep trouble here as are those who may have directed him to carry out such actions.
