tim vince 985 Report post Posted September 20, 2018 Last 4 weeks about 150 tested. I can see only one galloper.all negative.you would have thought the great northern meeting might have been targetted.im not suggesting harness is being unfairly targeted but is IT? LongOwner 217 Report post Posted September 20, 2018 Harness gets double the scrutiny and twice the fine / penalty if found in the wrong . Read all RIU and JCA decisions- you would think a different rule book is used . Fartoomuch, Thejanitor and Belinda 1

Are you arguing the thoroughbred trainers got off lightly, like most thought. If so,i fully agree they should be given sentences in line with the harness code. TCO2 testing at the numbers they do a waste of money,as I posted a long time ago,. It sometimes may be an indicator of who to scrutinize closer. They should be spending the money sending Blood samples to laboratories who have a history of picking up illegal substances. LongOwner 217 Report post Posted September 21, 2018 Read this case v’s harness Credit given as RIU didn’t give then notice they were getting close ( they seriously state that ) and for being nice enough credit v’s $$$ x2 fines in harness. Yes I am saying favoured decisions and it hasn’t stopped - read the joke O’Sullivan case then this one !
tim vince 985 Report post Posted September 21, 2018 The point I was trying to make is why are 130 plus harness horses tested and 1 galloper. Thejanitor and Belinda

You would see RIU officials at most meetings you attend. Why not ask them and report back as I have no idea what the answer is and would like to know as well

ShiftingGround 8 Report post Posted September 22, 2018 From the NZTR website; NZ Thoroughbred Racing will: Maintain currency and knowledge about international drug regulationsEndorse the Racing Integrity Unit intelligence-led sampling proceduresSupport ‘out of competition’sampling New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing Continue to ban the use of steroids Support NZ Racing Laboratory Services Ltd to maintain its ISO accreditation rating and independent operation for sample testing Maybe they don't have a specific policy and leave it to the RIU's discretion ... no 'intelligence leads', no testing? Wonder what that says to those that do get tested?
