OMG, so the more money you spend the more entitled you are to a say? Take a look at recent servants of NZ Racing who have done little to change anything, Australian born. Now an Aussie breeder with ideas about how to carve it all up, but devoid of a single growth one.

Well I do spend... but I’m putting it IN...not taking it OUT... ive said all along this industry can be fixed otherwise would I continue to support trainers and the other people that send me a bill every month? But it needs clear thinking, practical people at the helm...and I didn’t put those current people into power..people need to rise above provincialism and understand the industry is just about to go tits up. whenever I voiced the need for change and offered suggestions on what we could do at our local track, I was cried down, exactly as you are doing now...”take your ideas and go back to Rosehill”...so it’s the basic mindset that is the challenge facing the industry in NZ. Sickopunter 403 Report post Posted September 15, 2018 20 hours ago, Phantom said: Ah but the NZRB have shown time and again they don't take betting offences seriously!! MICK GUERIN was axed at some point after being caught placing a bet on credit, while JASON TAN put on a disguise and went into the Petone TAB to bet on Martina Hingis I think it was when the TAB inverted the prices on one of her matches. GUERIN is closely connected to some of the key players in the harness case, while TAN is back in the NZRB employ after a stint in Hong Kong. So the NZRB were happy to have him back even after he basically tried to steal from them! Steal? Really? That’s a long bow. I was not aware of the incident until the post but if for example someone works for a company knows a clear error has occurred, puts on a disguise to walk in to TAB to put bet on ( shows bit of mens rea in this action of disguising )it may not meet all the points to prove for theft once investigated but shows a degree of the highest skulduggery and quite frankly disloyalty. If a bank worker knows a machine is giving out twenties instead of tens and only debiting half from account each withdrawal , should the employee A ) report this fault to his employer or B put an ex presidents of America mask on and chug his card in and keep withdrawing his money from account in full knowledge of malfunction and keep it quiet from his employers. Very similar thing in my book, by way I think A should apply. Phantom and Fartoomuch

They’re well within their rights to have a bet unless that breaks their contract in some way and I can’t see how a racing presenter betting on a Tennis match in his own time would constitute that. To me all he did wrong was disguise himself.

And it's stealing when you are knowingly taking a bad number which is only there because one of your work colleagues made a mistake. Why do you think they put on disguises? Because they knew what they were doing was effectively stealing. AND that was the low blow, not calling it what it is. Phantom 494 Report post Posted September 15, 2018 Here's the original story, which only mentions Luke Radich but talks of several others given "unscheduled leave".
