Green generation not so Great

by Lushington D. Brady

Anzac-Day.jpg?w=630&ssl=1 Cartoon by Bill Leak.

My ancestors helped carve a modern nation out of scrub and bush. My grandfather fought at Gallipoli and on the Western Front. My parents lived the Great Depression and the Second World War. My in-laws somehow dodged machine-gun bullets and farmed their little family plots under the shadow of the most intense aerial bombardment in history. Those of us who are the beneficiaries of the most peaceful and prosperous era in human history owe everything to the generations of giants upon whose shoulders we stand.

But a generation of spoiled brats wants to tear down everything they worked so hard for, and often died to build. Quote:

My grandfather was part of the Greatest Generation. Toughened by wars and depression, they were patriotic nation builders. Their monuments are long-term productive assets…They survived floods, droughts, bushfires and plagues of mice, rabbits, locusts and prickly pear to develop an agricultural industry that provides food and fibre for millions of consumers. They welcomed boatloads of hard working migrants from many countries…The Greatest Generation made sure their kids behaved at school and did their homework.

Our lives are now controlled by the Green Generation, who follow a globalist agenda. This generation has devalued science, engineering and trade skills and pollute education curricula with the mantras of the green religion. Now they mobilise noisy truant kids for political rallies. End of quote.

These are children who demand the newest smartphones, are chauffered to school where they are cosseted in air-conditioned classrooms, lavishly praised for how unique and wonderful they are, and no one is allowed to fail. They are spared even the confronting sight of a red pencil mark on their – rarely handwritten and increasingly grammatically deficient, not to say badly spelled – work.

And they are endlessly, endlessly drilled in green-left dogma. Quote:

Too many of the Green Generation specialise in obstruction, destruction and delay, while themselves consuming the assets of the past. They cheer the demolition of coal-fired power plants and use green law-fare to stop or delay almost everything else. Among their battle trophies are South Australian and Victorian coal mines and power stations, most new industry proposals in Tasmania, much offshore oil exploration, new dam proposals in every state, and every new proposal for coal development, gas exploration or fracking. They hope to hang the scalps of Adani Coal, Rocky Point Coal, Wandoan Coal and all Galilee Basin developments on their trophy wall. Australia has a huge uranium resources but nuclear power is banned…

The sad history of Whyalla is instructive. The Greatest Generation built an iron mine, a steel works and a great shipbuilding enterprise there. Most of it is idle now…The Greatest Generation created our present world and left many useful assets as their monuments.

The Green Generation is destroying our future. The way things are heading, the lasting monuments to the Green Generation will be the skeletons of abandoned solar “farms” overgrown by lantana scrub, the concrete foundations of bankrupt wind “farms”, and spider-webs of useless sagging transmission lines and towers. End of quote.

Generations who came after the fall of the Roman Empire were often astonished at the crumbling splendour they saw all around them. Some decided that they could only have been built by giants. Quote:

These memorials will serve to remind the next generation of the long, costly and futile war on hydrocarbon energy and the many failed climate forecasts. End of quote.

That cartoon is possibly one of the most brilliant cartoons I have ever seen.

Looks like the we are about to have  zero carbon laws inflicted on us for no possible gain and many around the world are  backing away from such madness . Also big backlashes  against politicians and their carbon taxes around the world , good old Trump isn't getting scammed on this one , he's a real world leader and here to stay .

Confidential documents prepared in advance of a two-day EU summit in Brussels have exposed an East-West divide in Europe on climate change, with Germany siding with Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic in their refusal to commit to climate neutrality by 2050.

From Alberta to Australia, from Finland to France and beyond, voters are increasingly showing their displeasure with expensive energy policies imposed by politicians in an inane effort to fight purported climate catastrophe.

In mid-March, the Forum for Democracy (FvD), a fledgling political party just three years old, tied for the largest number of seats, 12, in the divided Dutch Senate in the 2019 elections. FvD takes a decidedly skeptical stance on climate change.

Finland, where climate change policies became the dominant issue in the election, support for climate skepticism surged. Whereas all the other parties proposed plans to raise energy prices and limit people’s energy use, the Finns Party, which made the fight against expensive climate policies the central part of its platform, gained the second-highest number of seats in the Parliament, just one seat behind the Social Democratic Party’s 40. The second-place finish was a big win for the Finns Party and its skeptical stance:

Plenty of room for a climate based party in NZ ,one that questions what and why we are doing what we are doing for no practical gain ,  they would fly the 5% .

We’re all gonna die!

by WH

popular_science_co2.jpg Screen capture from Popular ‘Science’

Popular Alarmism Science has printed an article with the disturbing picture of a cloud. The header is, “There’s more carbon in the atmosphere now than there was before the dawn of mankind.”

That, of course, is a straight out lie. Carbon is a solid in the forms diamond, graphite and graphene, none of which float around in the atmosphere. There might be a bit of soot from a fire but that settles fairly quickly.

The footer to the cloud picture states, “Humans are saturating the atmosphere with CO2.” This is another straight out lie.

co2_atmosphere.jpg

For those who are visually oriented, this diagram breaks it all down into easy to understand segments: (I snipped this a few years back and it does not allow for the variability of water vapour in the atmosphere.)

  • Take the entire atmosphere and represent it as 50 blocks
  • Take one of those blocks of the atmosphere and that is the total amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The diagram indicates 2% but a more typical figure is 1%
  • Divide that smaller block into 100 blocks.
  • Four of those blocks (4%) represent the CO2 portion of the greenhouse gases.
  • Total CO2 is, thus, 4% of 1% of the atmosphere or 0.04% of the entire atmosphere. Current ‘record’ measurement is 415 parts per million which is the same as 0.0415%.
  • Of that CO2, the amount caused by human activity is just 3.4%.
  • So the CO2 that humans are ‘saturating‘ the atmosphere with is 3.4% of 4% of 1% or 0.00135%. (Otherwise known, in scientific terms, as diddly squat) *

The article then starts on the scare proper: Quote.

We’re officially living on a planet with an atmosphere no previous human being has ever experienced. You’ll probably be able to say the same thing tomorrow.

Carbon dioxide levels recorded at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii reached 415 parts per million on Friday. Not only is that the highest number the observatory has recorded since it first started analyzing atmospheric greenhouse gases in 1958, but it’s more than 100 ppm higher than any point in some 800,000 years of data scientists have on global CO2 concentrations.

This means levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are now nearly 40 percent higher than ever in human history. And because the measurement directly correlates with things like global temperature and ocean acidification, this record concentration is further proof that humans are changing the environment at an unprecedented rate. End quote.

PopularScareStories

More and more outright lies. There is absolutely no correlation between the rising CO2 levels and global temperature, as global temperatures did not get the memo and are currently not cooperating by rising at the required rate.

There is absolutely no science to back the statement that humans are changing the environment at an unprecedented rate. There is actually no scientific proof that humans are changing the environment at all.

* Here is another way to visualise the amount of man-made CO2 in the atmosphere. Imagine we could walk along 1 kilometre of atmosphere.

  • The first 770 metres are Nitrogen.
  • The next 210 metres are Oxygen. (980 metres of the 1 kilometre)
  • The next 10 metres are water vapour. (10 metres left)
  • 9 metres are argon. (Just 1 more metre)
  • A few gases make up the first bit of that last metre.
  • The last 41 centimetres of the kilometre – that’s carbon dioxide.
  • 97% of that is produced by nature.
  • Of our journey of one kilometre, there are just 12 millimetres left. That’s the amount of carbon dioxide that global human activity puts into the atmosphere.
  • Of those 12 millimetres Australia puts in 0.18 of a millimetre, NZ puts in 0.007 of a millimetre.
  • Less than the thickness of a hair in both cases, out of a kilometre.

Or, for the final illustration: To the nearest whole seat, only one yellow Aussie jersey with the rest of Eden Park clad in black. Not really an Aussie ‘saturation’ is it?

Radio NZ report this morning says that over 1 million scool children from 110 countries took to the streets to protest about inaction by Govts on climate change.

1... how many countries in the world

2...What percentage does i million make of the total number of school children in those 110 countries.

3...Did students from China,Russia,India take part.

That type of argument has been trotted out many times before Crusty and no doubt you have been listening to some broken down baby boomer radio host . If they want to protest that is fine, it is part of democracy.

The problem for politicians is that many of these students will vote in the next few years and if politicians  do not support global warming intiatives then they will not be voted in.

Problem for us baby boomers is that in 20 years most of us will be gone and we will not relevant.

as soon as these brainwashed kids get in the real world and get jobs start a family mortgage to pay etc, what will go straight out the door will be this climate change hoax all will be forgotten

what they will be worrying about is putting food on the table, the electricity bill to pay kids shoes too buy and hopefully putting a bit a side for their retirements.

the lefty loonies wont abandoned these theories it will only get worse but as we are seeing around the world now if the centre right parties get back focusing on jobs the economy and i guess the normal traditions of policy's they fight for, that's what people are voting for .....

Yeah I've already had that from my cheeky little bugger of a teen. "You're irrelevant," he says. There in lies the problem for Shodsie's 'Center right parties'. They dare not be seen as entirely dimissive of climate change, for fear young voters will say "You're irrelevant" and deny them power via the ballot box.

Great article 100 1 , I  thought this was worth a copy and paste , when the next earth day  comes around  lets post a few happy birthday wishes  to Vladimir Lenin , that's quite a pointer to what's really going on .

“Strong was using the U.N. as a platform to sell a global environment crisis and the Global Governance Agenda.”

The environmental movement as the basis for a socialist world government was in the minds of people like Strong and fellow members of the Club of Rome in the late 1960s. However, it was launched on the world on April 22, 1970, by a small group centered at Stanford University. The date is critical because it was the first Earth Day. It is also very important to know the choice was deliberate because it is the birthday of Vladimir Lenin. The environmental movement was a deliberate program to impose communism on the world.

Certainly explains why cindy is so climate crazy (deceitful) , former world leader of the  International Union of Socialist Youth.

It may have been trotted out many times but its true, especially bearing in mind how many Germans and Austrians were members of the Nazi Party .

Extreme example of what a minority can do.

Follow the thread above and learn some facts they don't tell you about plastic in the oceans.

While not desirable some facts include

Image

The only way to deal with plastic litter, 90% of which is in Asia and Africa, is to put a price on plastic waste and burn it for electricity and heat - waste-to-energy. This is a mature technology used around the world, but the "greens" oppose it as they do all combustion.

Same with fish.
