This is just about the worst case scenario for racing.  Just for a start, importantly, the punters won’t bet...par for the course, Waller lines up way too many favourites which don’t salute...often with the maligned stable mate taking the prize...and if punters won’t bet, then no money goes through the system which stumps up racing...self defeating system...

Is it any wonder they can’t get decent sized fields in Sydney and provincials...when domination has just gone beyond the ridiculous

I'm not sure what to make of the prize money being headlined as "of $100,000" when it is actually of $98,000.  I've nothing against the Equine Welfare Fund and the Jockey Welfare Fund sharing the other $2,000, but that money is not stakes money, it is a compulsory donation from connections.

The $10,000,000 prize pool in the 2017 The Everest included a prize of $100,000 for the Equine Welfare Fund but nothing for the Jockey Welfare Fund. Maybe it is the Jockey Welfare Fund's turn in 2018; if so they will do better, given the total prize pool is $13,000,000 this year

Jamie bailed out but CW paid up for 11 of the 12 acceptors. He has scratched 2 already so in effect has 9 of the 10 runners. Raqeeq is $4 fav so back the others:rolleyes:

Becoming a joke... how could anyone possibly bet with confidence in that race.

Never really understood this mentaility.   If his favorites don't salute, how bout betting round them, or jumping on Betfair and laying them?

Will run a test tonight on Chris Waller favorites and see how the results are.

Interesting stat, but I’m interested in how much money is NOT in invested by punters if there is are multiple Waller runners.  That’s the true  indicator.

Actually you can do some homework on races where Waller favourite gets bumped off by one of his other runners...now that would make interesting reading.....

But it is the punters that make the favourite, that doesn't necessarily mean that the stable think fave is best chance. One interview last year CW was going through his runners for the day in which he had multiple starters and in 3 races picked horses as his best chance in the race and all 3 won and paid over 5s when he had faves in all 3 and 2nd fave as well in one of others.Maybe he just a better judge than the punters.

However, Stanley Red Alto's trainer said Waller’s large team was not a bad thing for Sydney racing.

“Everyone is saying, ‘Waller should be capped’, but without Waller, where is your racing?” he said.

“If he has got that many horses that are needing 2400m and that’s their rating, he has got to run them.

“If the horses weren’t in his stable, they’d be in someone else’s.”

Now here  is a guy who you would have to respect. Well done B Stanley.

Given 4 were supposed to go around at Warwick Farm yesterday you would have to expect further scratchings

Are you able to do the same analysis but limit it to 1800m+?

I’d say Liam’s on vacation, wouldn’t you?
