Crow 226 Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Well didn't Thatz David make Charlie look a right Charlie when he sat up on Zed Leppelin in hurdles today and be done for third money. At the end of the day if the jockeys are competitive then you cant expect the horse to be. Holiday time for him, don't come Monday. Just Looking 44 Report post Posted July 26, 2018 C Studd – Rider of ZED LEPPELIN was shown a video of the concluding stages where he had relaxed his ride approximately 7 strides from the finish when clearly in 3rd position and was beaten by THATZ DAVID with the margin being a short neck. The gelding underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities. C Studd defended a charge under Rule 636(1)(d) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. After hearing submissions from the Stipendiary Stewards and connections, of the gelding the Judicial Control Authority found the charge proved and C Studd had his licence to ride in races suspended from the conclusion of racing on Saturday, 28 July up to and including Friday, 24 August 2018. Looks like he looked over his left shoulder and saw no threat but for some reason he didn’t look over his right so assumed wrongly he had 3 rd easily . Nevermind missing the Canterbury carnival
gubellini 3,923 Report post Posted July 27, 2018 Factor in the fact that Thatz David sometimes has a bizarre racing pattern sometimes. On numerous occasions he has drifted out in his races and then finished off strongly. I know no other horse going around at the moment that does that! He was having his 150th start yesterday so you can forgive his quirky nature!

Who other than you are talking about his character, hes a good bloke, it's about the being professional in doing the job right. You need to get out of the creek puha and talk facts. rdytdy 5,335 Report post Posted July 27, 2018 He was clearly going to get a holiday (picked up that he hadn't ridden his mount out and sat up well short of the line) when watching the race. I think the head on film clearly shows this the best. Made a mistake by not looking to the outer unfortunately and has to cop the penalty. He is entitled to defend the charge and chose to do so, no concern with that aspect, but it would have been like farting against thunder as a picture/s are worth a thousand words. Why? he looks happy and sound and although form is a bit in and out and the racing style a bit weird dropping away and coming again late but no different than he has done in recent years. 1 hour ago, bus stop said:
Chris Wood 1,545 Report post Posted July 27, 2018 Agree Aaron, owners choice as to when you want to retire your horse. Same as the big grey fellow in Oz!
