Two  horses I've noted mentally entered up but will wait for fields and  draws . Love going to the Valley but drives me nuts at same time. Amount of times I've had bet on one running up backsides untested up straight ain't funny but we must all have suffered that. I never go OTT there.

I wouldn’t want to be the trainer though. The pressure must be intense! Although James Cummings seems to be taking it all in his stride at the moment and is doing a good job getting the results. 

Read in Post the other day that Charlie Appleby  was given two main targets when he got job , one win Epsom Derby two win Melbourne Cup. Masar sorted one in June.Appleby won with something like 11 out of 18 runners at Deauville meeting this year. He said he identified suitable horses then set them, same as he does for Aussie. 

Saeed Bin Suroor gets a bit of flack at times, I think it's bit harsh  myself . He has produced a fair amount of top liners but just hit few flat spots last few years.Not sure too much with American set up, use about three trainers there.

What would James Cummings have as his main targets, Slipper for sure but what else ? Melbourne  Cup must be as the home trainer.  Get ton of support but with that I agree the pressure huge.

Dread to think what the yearly budget looks like , got to keep the Darley stallion supply line going for that expense.

Both Sir Isaac Newton and Orderofthegarter $14 with Nights Watch backing up from Saturday the $4 favourite. 

Nature Strip goes up $1.60 for the McEwen and The Autumn Sun resuming in the Stan Fox in Sydney $1.50.

I love the Valley. I think the best horse usually wins, especially in the Cox Plate. I love the cambered home turn and as a viewing spectacle it’s my favourite track.

Sir Isaac Newton 14s  CBT , have  i got a computer virus showing a different formine for the "NEWT" , he is in  the handicap too and should be thick end of 33s in either race, bloody hell at least an armed robber got decency to pull a gun when he robs me. I was at the Turnball last year I would have got closer to Winx piggybacking Dufficy as my jock. 

Hows  Mask of Time priced in the handicap, that's a big priced winner waiting to explode somewhere , just not sure where.

Harrison really stands out for mine , struggling to find a negative with ton of positives but at 9 and 3s here he's worth the ew saver at that price the place.Got an insurance policy on Mask of Time in last, wide draw so just hopeful, but keep remembering that Toorak  run last year, he's a good horse.

Be great to see that Nature Strip up close, a monster. September Stakes overnight up north a cracker. If you get the Korean stuff couple good international races this weekend , don't think we get them here. Willie Mullins , he travels everywhere, Riven Light might plough through the sand in the Cup for him.

Look out for Weirs Vic Derby hope Another Discreet in R3 and Gai's Hush Writer in the 4th...they like him.

Ex Kiwi filly Spanish Whisper has been well backed so Hayes might have her ready like La Bella Diosa was.

I’m in Geelong today so will miss the meeting at the Valley unfortunately. 

Nature Strip is an absolute beast and as long as he doesn’t miss the jump should bolt in.

I also like Mr Sneaky in race 7.

Huge run by Belgravia OM, Liam Howley looks like his team is building momentum slowly, Homesman ran a blinder although I cannot see any in that race troubling any big guns in the three big races.Old Hartnell a brave bugger but time starting to catch him.

Harrison every chance not good enough, that Hush Writer will be better for his 4th lifetime run against some old stagers . 

Nature Strip would have to find a bit with Redzeal if he gets a slot IMHO but I would guess  Weir will have him peaking in a month. Must take a bit of looking after with his size?

Didn't realise track record OM, agree I thought Spanish Whisper ran a cracker. Mask of Time ran alright from draw , iam just going to keep buying that insurance policy with him and hope it wins and covers premiums.Iam stuck with him now.

That Hush Writer looked same colours as that Pornichet they had from France and he was good. It's got group form in light French career.

Haunted not good enough. The Weir runner got plunged late which wasn’t a good sign.

I like TheCliffsOfMoher in the CC. I thought his run in the Caulfield Stakes was huge and as long as he handles the quick back up he’ll be hard to beat.

Yucatan was unbelievable in the Herbert Power and has to be a massive chance to give Lloyd another one.

Minor profit Boxerchocolates CBT ,   I sometimes think I cost Tab more in electricity to process my bets  than I ever win, just constantly recycling money ew punters like me. Back up should be good COM , he went better second race Royal Ascot this year although he was down in class from first day.
