Trainer for stayers

15 posts in this topic

Hi all. This is my first post but have really enjoyed reading the commentary over the past year or so. I have a 3 yr old filly by shocking who has just finished her first race prep. I am about to spell her as she needs more strengthening. But considering new trainer and wanted someone in waikato or auckland with medium sized stable who has a particularly good record with stayers. Any suggestions?

Nah, Send it South whilst it's developing it will pay its way if good enough without being put under pressure

Would be a great idea Uneasy if bloody NZTR programmed some more racing down there, especially around Canterbury.

How much more needed

They run 23 meetings a year at Riccarton mostly feature and premier stake money

Sorry uneasy but much easier for me to travel to see her race in the north island than the south. More race choices up there too.

Not easy to work you out uneasy! Your reply to my post seems to imply there is ample racing down south so why do you write in the Informant that the South is short-changed with race dates?

Otago / Southland shuts down for several months and has no Premier Days few feature days Riccarton as I said has 23 meetings per year how many starts do you want to give your horse no traveling mostly Premier and Feature races
