Insider 3,874 Report post Posted April 26, 2018 What you have got to remember is that the Easter Handicap was taken away from its traditional date so as to allow a proper flow of ALL race dates through the Autumn. If it hadn’t happened, there wouldn’t be the “new” Auckland Cup & NZ Derby Carnival and the continuous jam-up and disruption to other race dates. Insider 3,874 Report post Posted April 26, 2018 Oh, and the same decision was made in Sydney with the dropping of a fixed date (Easter) for their Doncaster/ Derby Carnival. Why is now one moaning about that, other than me who liked to incorporate Easter weekend to attend the Donny/Derby meeting, as I didn’t have to take as much time off work!
