Ohokaman 5,763 Report post Posted January 19, 2018 TAB offering $8.00 FO about Kawi to win the Telegraph until 5pm today. Seems pretty generous. https://www.tab.co.nz/racing/?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Content&utm_campaign=TFC-Kawi-Special-19Jan#
cherry_bomb 89 Report post Posted January 19, 2018 Good PR no harm in that. I suspect they need to balance the books as he has been on the drift from 5s. The race is as packed with speed as I can remember. Ferrando, Miss Wilson, Passing Shot, Rocanto and Carnival all likely to look for the lead. Am with Chambord to swoop, just dipping the toe and waiting to see how the outside of the track plays. Volpe Veloce has every right to sit off them and gap it 250 out. Recent Telegraph winners have had the absolute run of the race, Sacred Star aside who would have won from anywhere. Am hoping this year the tempo and track will play out for Zabeels first 1200 G1. The Crucible 632 Report post Posted January 19, 2018 1 hour ago, hesi said: Sensei with 53kg and Danielle Johnson, worth a look. 23's seems unders though Hesi, you've got to stop drinking so much on a Friday night. 23s is way way under - should be closer to 50. A 3yo, and no champion, taking on a field of top sprinters. Coming back from 1600m on a one week back up and drawn relatively wide. Jockey upgrade from last week is a big plus but not for me. Ohokaman 5,763 Report post Posted January 19, 2018 Packing Eagle if track gets to good. Do respect Kawi though, great fresh record and blinkers on say they will give it a shake.
The Crucible 632 Report post Posted January 19, 2018 2 minutes ago, hesi said: Safe to assume then, that you would not have backed Signify last year at $46, Adventador the previous at $81 or Jacowils in the Railway in 2009 at $106 That's correct. Were any of them 3yos coming back from a 1600m race just seven days earlier? I know roughies can win these big sprint races and yes there's a chance Sensei can win it. But not a 1 in 23 chance. Chocolate fish says I can name five horses that finish ahead of Sensei tomorrow.

If it were P D Johnson on board tomorrow you might say a comparable pilot to the legend but I suspect it is you overdoing the Friday night drinks. Having said that Chris has got off so a major minus to the horse's chances. Danielle is clearly a very talented girl but jockey upgrade????? Ya right are ya? dock leaf, Belinda, Dwyn and 2 others 4

Ya right are ya? 10 years ago maybe but right now she is clearly a better jockey. Over the past 2-3 seasons combined she has a better strike-rate than him and that is despite riding in a much higher proportion of proper races. gary1, Insider, N1MUE and 2 others 3

Eastwood Jaunty 148 Report post Posted January 20, 2018 Michael Pitman said on the radio this morning that Enzo's Lad was only in the race because the owners insisted and "that's their prerogative". Did not give the impression he thought the horse warranted the trip to Trentham, but I am sure he is delighted to be proved wrong.
